Yeah, it might be alright tbf, but in even the best case scenario the whole "real life owner becoming an on-screen character" thing is just so overplayed (obviously in no small part due to the McMahons etc.).

The fact that AEW has essentially avoided using authority figure characters at all since the start of its run is quietly one of the best aspects of its creative imo.

Even if it doesn't go terribly, I just don't really see what's to be gained by Tony Khan being a part of AEW in kayfabe tbh. Even if the whole trope hadn't already been done to death, he doesn't have the screen presence/charisma of a McMahon, which makes me fear we'd end up with him becoming the AEW equivalent of the absolutely dire TNA Dixie Carter experience. And the less said about that the better.

But yeah considering he can't act at all and lacks charisma, last night and what we've seen to date is the limit of what his onscreen persona should be.
