    How?

If a club is generating profit, then they should be investing that profit in better players or investing in better infrastructure. If teams are just banking the money they make, they'll stand still and be overtaken.

You're just making this up as you go along. Underinvestment might be a problem in a club that's banking massive profits. Or it might not be. "Banking massive profits=bad" is what you said before, and it's the complete opposite of the truth.

Fairly sure there are FA regulations about not running clubs for profit. I agree with GF.

There are regulations regarding what you can do. You can't, for example, take over a club, sell all its players and assets then close it down for a quick profit.

But there's no "limit" as such on how much money you can make from one, so long as it's run fairly. Besides, PLCs have to make profit by law.

Never been able to work out how soccer clubs, or more particularly their directors, get around the fact its illegal to trade while insolvent

Rooney out of the match today. Flu, apparently. Hernandez starts.

I've honestly never felt more embarassed to support Aston Villa in my life. 6-0 to a pretty ordinary team like Newcastle is ridiculous. It was made worse by the abject manner in which our heads dropped after the first couple.

Still, at least we aren't Barnet.

It was a ridiculously deserved scoreline for Newcastle. Complete rubbish from Villa.

Also, vicious rumours abound that Schwarzer failed a medical with us.

I'm not denying that they deserved it. I was more commenting on the complete direness of our performance.

Although, if Carew hadn't taken possibly the worst penalty of all time, who knows? We were dominating up to that point (not that that excuses how Villa played after).

Well the hype Caroll got coming into this season has definately been justified based on his two games to date this season. Must be picked in England's opening EURO 20102 fixtures if he keeps this up.

He already had his medical ages ago didn't he?

As for Rooney, hearing that he's not travelled with the squad because he is not in a fit state to play after a super injunction was listed against him on Friday. So apparently we'll be reading more about him soon.

Whens Scholes going to retire to Oldham, or wherever. **** still can't tackle, and still doesn't get booked.
