And SGE is tipped to take over at Fulham.

Considering for the forseeable future, theres no significant transfer kitty, he's the best man to do a job with what you've got, rather than having a hissy fit about not being able to sign that multi million pound Spaniard/Italian/Columbian drug mule.
That's also an important thing, will they stay if he is hired? If Benitez was fired for Hodgson, then that's a disgrace.

Would you prefer Sven Goran Eriksson instead?

Nope. Would prefer Van Gaal or Bielsa, and - at a long shot - Hiddink. If the board thought about replacing Benitez even half-assedly then they should have lined up someone very good.

Two fluked trophies and a 7th place after a huge net spend when inheriting a strong squad. What a clown manager eh.

Why would van Gaal think about leaving Bayern and join Liverpool instead? It would be a step down IMO. And you would have no chance of getting Hiddink since he is now contracted to the Turkish FA, so unless Liverpool were to stamp up some serious cash as compensation and possibly line-up a replacement, or at least allow him to do two jobs at once.

Your not going to get such a high class manager untill the off the pitch side is sorted. Once you have new chairmen, then you'll be able to bring in a higher class manager.

Only reason Benitez went now IMO is because the working relationship had completely deteriorated, otherwise he'd be there until the club was sold.

You have valid points, but at the same time it still doesn't mean Hodgson is good enough for Liverpool - even in this climate IMO. He is a Tottenham/Villa type moreso than any club really vying for top honours. There are still guys like Pellegrini, Rijkaard, Deschamps and others I'd take over Roy.

Problem is, I doubt any of them would take you, until the ownership issue is sorted. Who'd want to walk into a job where money is limited, and there's the constant presence of the club being sold and a new owner wanting his manager instead of you?

Dude Rijkaard is coaching in Galatasary and Deschamps is in Marseille. We haven't fallen that far off the footballing map. There are murmurs of Bielsa also and all 3 would likely want to come. Again, Hodgson should be a last resort, a we-could-not-get-anyone-else kind of appointment. And if the club was in that dire straits why wuold Hodgson himself want to come? Too much exaggerating going on here. If Liverpool were that desperate they'd have kept Benitez.

I'm just glad Arsene Wenger had such a great reputation when he took over at Arsenal tbh.

Ikki. Plain wrong with a hint of Roseboy unwillingness to bend to the obvious and correct line of thought.
