Fairly predictable result for Arsenal today, always destroy these sorts of teams with little ability but who don't try and kick the other team to death.

Blackburn away next week promises to be a bit of a scrap however.

Except that football clubs aren't meant to be ran for profit, in terms of their day to day business operations.
I agree that football teams who consistently bank huge profits aren't being well run, but at the same time you can't just keep spending money you don't have.

Um, Micah lacking pace? Couldn't be a more wrong statement. He's often caught flat footed due to reading the game so poorly but he is lightning.
Indeed, its all in the head with Richards. On his international debut vs Holland, his ran with Robben stride for stride. Once he gets his head right he can anything.

Arsenal turnover massive profits don't we? We're the perfect business model according to most.

There's a difference between generating a massive profit (good), and banking a massive profit (bad).

Any profit generated should be getting re-invested, whether that's in infrastructure or players.

Haha, you're not living in the real world man.

How?

If a club is generating profit, then they should be investing that profit in better players or investing in better infrastructure. If teams are just banking the money they make, they'll stand still and be overtaken.

You're just making this up as you go along. Underinvestment might be a problem in a club that's banking massive profits. Or it might not be. "Banking massive profits=bad" is what you said before, and it's the complete opposite of the truth.

There are regulations regarding what you can do. You can't, for example, take over a club, sell all its players and assets then close it down for a quick profit.

But there's no "limit" as such on how much money you can make from one, so long as it's run fairly. Besides, PLCs have to make profit by law.

Never been able to work out how soccer clubs, or more particularly their directors, get around the fact its illegal to trade while insolvent

Cant believe you are all talking about this when Newcastle have just put 6 past Villa.

I've honestly never felt more embarassed to support Aston Villa in my life. 6-0 to a pretty ordinary team like Newcastle is ridiculous. It was made worse by the abject manner in which our heads dropped after the first couple.

Still, at least we aren't Barnet.

It was a ridiculously deserved scoreline for Newcastle. Complete rubbish from Villa.

Also, vicious rumours abound that Schwarzer failed a medical with us.
