Good goalkeepers don't come up very often. Also a team like the CDMs is only likely to get a good goalkeeper on the cheap when he's younger and so will need seasons to develop. Then when they realise they're good they may well decide to move up a few levels to a better mercenary club who actually try to win stuff.

Sir Alex a much bigger legend than Chief Whingeur however.

Indeed. And if you're the sort of mercenary club that fields a low strength side in the FA Cup when it's wide open then you'll lose out in the long run anyway.

Oh and on a related note Mancini says he will let Given leave if he wants to.

BBC Sport - Football - Manchester City close in on midfielder James Milner

There you go CDMs. Christmas come early - a top notch keeper and he's not English. What more could you wish for.
Lose out on what? A competition that the majority of fans and players don't give two hoots about.

You'll get a few million, immediately, for going through the rounds and winning.

You've got the added experience (cup football particularly valuable to a soft touch like the CDMs) and prestige. The benefits of that filtering through over the long term.

What prestige is there exactly in winning the FA Cup?

We won't go for him. We've turned him down twice before because of his height apparently. And he won't solve any of our problems in terms of commanding his area and weaknesses from set pieces.
Would solve your problem of having a gash keeper though.

Oh bugger, how did they not keep that out?

Can see them getting a result now, which would just be party-pooping, IMHO.:@

My mate said at half-time, "I love it when Liverpool don't qualify for the Champions League but whenever someone else does they just embarass themselves"

Although Spurts just scored
