Any club who wants to sign Ozil better get their arse into gear because he will play in their Champions League Qualifier. Looking at you, Real Madrid.

I'm not suggesting going on a massive spending spree ala Man City (who might want to be careful if they make the CL and with UEFA's new financial rules coming in), and send the club up the creek, but you know, given how much money Wenger is meant to have, what is so wrong in spending a little bit of money to get the best player/s you can get for the positions you so desperately need to fill? It's more or less a copy and paste job from Arsenal fans these days.
Yes but nobody actually knows this apart from those in the club. Though Arsenal crow on about having the money to spend, the fact that hardly any is ever shelled out does suggest that there may be some exaggerating going on.

It's there, when we release our turnover figures and whatever, there's masses of money in the club. For the last few years some was tied up in the stadium and what have you, but Wenger's said that's not the case anymore.

Bellamy to Cardiff, amazing signing for them. Will be far too good for the Championship. Hope he doesn't get them promoted somehow.

Brad Jones now a Liverpool player too.

Just curious here, how worried are United fans about their reliance/dependance on Scholes and Giggs? Without them you'd be about half the team you are.
Not worried. There have been some seasons where they haven't fired up much but we've still won the league through other players. Wasn't long ago that Scholes was out for almost an entire season and then people were all too happy to point out that Giggs "didn't deserve" an award because he barely played for United in another title winning season. So with that in mind, it seems we have other players who can fill in for them.

I find that SAF doesn't really replace players like-for-like but rather adjusts the tactics depending on who is playing. Carrick certainly is no Keane but we've won three seasons without him. Ronaldo certainly wasn't a Beckham and Valencia is different to Ronaldo. These things happen. When Giggs and Scholes retire I'm sure that we'll still be in contention for the title and I'm sure that if we suffer badly then things will be done to react to that accordingly.

Unfortunately, there is no trophy awarded for performance per unit of money spent.

Indeed. And if you're the sort of mercenary club that fields a low strength side in the FA Cup when it's wide open then you'll lose out in the long run anyway.

Oh and on a related note Mancini says he will let Given leave if he wants to.

There you go CDMs. Christmas come early - a top notch keeper and he's not English. What more could you wish for.

We won't go for him. We've turned him down twice before because of his height apparently. And he won't solve any of our problems in terms of commanding his area and weaknesses from set pieces.
He'll either go to Fulham or Celtic and we'll still get Schwarzer IMHO.

At least the defence would know Shay's not going to come for crosses and handle the situation appropriately. With Almunia and Fabianski, they've no ****ing idea what's about to happen, except that it's likely to end with us a goal down.

Yeah, very good point actually.

Edit : And where the hell does Ozil fit into the Madrid side?
Alonso, Khedira, M.Diarra, L.Diarra, Canales, Kaka et more.

Van Der Vaart leaving surely?
