Carlton and Sydney are pretty safe in the 8 because of the % gap, although Carlton could conceivably lose all their last four games on current form, Essendon and Richmond certainly aren't forgone conclusions.

Benchmark00 brings you another edition of 'vintage football moments'.

This weeks instalment takes you back to 1993, before the stretcher rule and before the soft hip and shoulder interpretation.

YouTube - Dean Wallis takes out Mil Hanna - 1993 GF

Yeah well played.

Do you reckon Wallis would have got weeks if that occurred today? Or did he avoid the head?

Also, how funny is it to see the centre bounce be the Channel 7 logo.

I'm sure that'd exist today if there weren't three separate broadcasters.

I think he makes some connection with the head, purely because Hanna seems to be in alot of trouble and his head didn't hit the ground. Hard to tell though. Play on!

Amazing really, not just because he ticked every single one of the modern day MRP's boxes, but because the umpire didn't stop the game when play came gushing back the other way.

Great hit though.

Been talking of him wanting to come back. Still think that he was AFL standard, just that Collingwood (his team) had a number of players similar to him who did a better job, in O'Brien and Shaw.
