not surprised our midfield ended up like that. we ran the midfield into the ground and a couple of players in there just don't have the tank (lonergan and NLM stand out for me. two players ideally not in the team for me). we were already forced to drop Hooker to get another midfielder in there (and lee wasn't half bad) but the obvious thing for me was to not play two small forwards and get another midfield rotation in there (although on that front we're really down to skin and bones. nevertheless, some first year player would have been a better bet for me)

and then there's the bad kickers. i pointed out above my opinion of our midfield kicking skills, but lonergan, melksham & coyler can't be relied upon to deliver good ball (melksham and coyler are capable, but stuff up too often). couple of others like lee too can't be relied upon either. heppell only has one foot right now, so i'm finding his place in the midfield annoying, however forced it may be.

the team we sent out wasn't good enough. but that's the way it is sometimes

petrie can't even kick a goal on old man fletcher. north should hand over the 4 points to us, methinks.

Fletcher had a sensational game again yesterday which is exactly the reason why he should probably retire.

Round Twenty Tipping Update

Another one of those weeks were the form book holds sway. Only Spikey, in a marvellous act of self-sabotage, manages fewer than 6/9. If he'd have used his usual "Homes + Bombers + Team playing GWS" formula he'd have got 7.

Morgie, tozz and me sweep the board.

Weekly

Brumby 9
morgie 9
altoz 9
Benchy 8
howard 8
Jono 7
skd 7
HDS 7
Johnners 6
Spikey 3

Weekly extras to the aforementioned trio, with morgie and tozz closing to within six of howard.

Jono, in his haste to gain ground on the leader, slips to fifth & benchy moves level with Heef as the latter's tipping GWS two weeks on the bounce proves unduly optismistic.

Overall

1) howard 134.10
2) altoz 128.08
3) morgie 128.06
4) Brumby 127.06
5) Jono 126.06
6) skd 122.07
=7) Benchy 122.03
=7) HDS 122.03
9) Johnners 106.01
10) Spikey 95.04

The rest of the tippers playing for 2nd and not even trying to catch Howard are soft as marshmallows.
