NHL playoffs

^ I don't know, but i have a gut feeling that Habs will do it. The way the defense of Habs is working together is simple instrumental....

We need AK 46 to fire and need to create more offensive opps.....

Markov's injury was a big blow. But I am truly enjoying this series and the play offs as a hole...

Redwings are simply unpredictable.....

Canucks lose. The fans on Canucks.com are cross with Loungo. When was the last time he stole a game etc. You do need a goalie who can steal a game in the playoffs. When we went to the finals Kirk Mclean had a save percentage of like 920. Need that again here.

Can't see the Habs doing I'm afriad. That's just me being a biased Pens fan though. I just reckon we have an extra gear that you guys don't and when we can step it up with Crosby, Malkin, Guerin and Fleury, I reckon we're nearly unbeatable. Pretty impressive how you guys came back though last game, thought you were in for a stuffing. Looking forward to tonight big time.

Would be literally the best thing ever if the Red Wings came back. Watched the last game and couldn't believe what I was seeing. The 1st/2nd best team in the season getting absolutely stuffed and comprehensively outplayed. Have a bad feeling that Heatley and co will come back pretty strongly, but it should be a good game. Franzen, WAG.

What are your thoughts now....taking into account the Halak factor?
My original thoughts still stands.

Love the timing. Luongo goes out and gets star of the game. 29/30 saved.

Was such a massive McLean fan. Loved the starting lineup we had in the mid 90's...

IIRC it was:

McLean, Lume, Babych, Courtnall/Bure, Ronning, Linden.

<3 TL. Would give up my first born to watch him play again.

Linden in that playoff run was incredible. As the years rolled on he became a perimeter player and his ice time diminished. I still remember him hitting someone against the glass and the glass smashing into a million pieces.

Linden and Keanen came to have some exchanges while he was coach. Linden was mainly on the receiving end as Iron Mike would look for a scape goat for any loss.

Other players of that era included

Dana Murzyn - Jeff Brown - Jim Sandlak - Odjick

A story for you about Pavel Bure. I have no idea if it is true or not. But I like it. A friend of a friend was invited home to make out with Pavel Bure. She went into his bachelor pad and waited while he fiddled around with his VCR while sitting in a big leather recliner chair.
Finally he spun around in the chair to face her "So do you like porn?"
The girl got up and left!

Anyways - a cracker of a story.

A guy at my work used to be friends with Pavel. And he was basically a celebrity at work because of it. People would stop by to discuss each game with him.

You say biased eh....ok.

Take the red rosy glasses off my friend and say hello to game 7. Which gear you are talking about? Crosby? Scored only 1 goal so far in this series, last night that too was a fluke and an incredible assist helped him. Other than that Gill and Plekanec owned Crosby...didn't let him move at all....Crosby is nothing but a whiner...always yapping at the refs...

I will tell you about a secret gear for Habs. Its called Cammellari...Habs played the best offensive game...owned Pens in their own zone.

I am afraid a lot of hearts will be broken this time around in Pittsburg. Crosby is way too over rated, Ovei is much better then Crosby...

Yeah you're absolutely right, Camalleri has been fantastic this series, quite easily the best player for mine. Crosby has had a poor series, but I always feel like he has got another great game coming around the corner, luckily Malkin has been playing really well, so we haven't suffered as much as we would have done.

Not judging Crosby and calling him overated on the basis of one poor series though, he's the top goal-scorer in the regular season and has been the best player all season, bar maybe Ovechkin and Henrik Sedin, for crying out loud, it's not like he's fluked a few good matches and suddenly everyone rates him. He was the number 1 draft pick for a reason and he has basically been as good as everyone thought he would be so far.

Looking forward to the final, I reckon we're good enought to win and I'd be annoyed if we didn't. All it needs is for Halak to have another shocker (he's had a few amonst some breath-taking ones) and it's Pittsburgh's to lose.

Crosby isn't overrated, he just had a poor series. Future Hall of Famer IMO.

C'mon Habs, the Bruins are waiting!

Regular season is something totally different. Playoffs are a different ball game. When you have a man on man contest Crosby didn't do anything against Gill or Pleckanec. Both had the better of Crosby.

Crosby is good but not as good as people rate him to be, Ovie is much better.

It will be great to have a Round 3 between Bruins and Habs.

It's all hockey at the end of the day. Crosby destroyed both Gill and Pleckanec during the regular seaosn, it doesn't make him any less of a player because he can't do it in a few odd games. Like I said, you don't fluke the top scorer. Can't wait for him to ****ing dominate tonight and send us through, would love him so much.

YOU WISH!!!!!!!!!!!! Its not just "Hockey" for MTL, we breathe Hockey...24 Stanley Cups..that is something... 100 years of history my friend....If there is anything in MTL then its Hockey...

Not a single super star on the team...played like a team and Pens are out...

"a few odd games" buddy its called the Playoffs....i don't think you have any clue about ice hockey....ever played it? Crosby was literally owned by Gill and Pleck. Anyone who knows hockey would know that...anyways..Pens are history now...nuff said.

Fail to see how Montreal can 'choke' at this point, after coming from behind to beat this year's President's Trophy winners and the defending Stanley Cup champions. Now that the Habs have actually won two playoff rounds, something they failed to manage ever since I started following hockey in 1994, screw the pessimism: Cup #25 is as good as ours.

Canucks Lose/Lost. From canucks.com fans message board

Luongo is the main reason why we lost. We already know heading into this series Chicago is the Favorite, but so was Buffalo, Washington and New Jersey. The underdog teams found a way to win. Our main advantage, and most important was Goal tending. And if our goal tending comes through we had a good chance at winning.

Game 3 6 goals allowed
game 4 7 goals allowed.
game 6 5 goals allowed.

Unacceptable. What hurts was that those were home games. You can't just say well chicago was better, then you might as well not play. I thought Detroit is better then San Jose but they beat em in 5.

Just look at it, our goaltending didn't come through.
I would also put some blame on the coaching staff... AV shot this team in the foot in this series

but for the most part, the better all around team won go canucks go!! thank you for an amazing season!!

i guess i better give some reasoning for why i put some (not all) blame on the coaching staff... k il keep it simple game 4 chicago takes a 3 - 1 stranglehold, he sits demitra that game, not that he was playing that great and that may not have even made a diference, but why he would sit demo instead of the likes of hansen glass grabner bernier, etc.. is beyond me....

and AV should not have dressed Salo, i know it was do or die but injured defensemen should not be played, i'd much rather have a healthy rome or baumgartner than an injured salo who cant even keep up with the play.

all in all a team loss as a whole, no one group or person is to blame, but AV made some horrible horrible decisions this series. FIRED!!!
