Absolutely wonderful performance. I can't believe it.

Great to see Valerie win for NZ too.

You'd expect a story like that from an American newspaper, because they can never accept that their athletes can be beaten....
What an astonishing run by Bolt! What a fantastic final!

Gay ran an astounding 9.71, and finished a clear second....
Great run by Powell to take bronze in 9.84. And both Thompson and Bailey ran 9.93, and finished outside the medals!
Nobody has ever run 9.93 and finished fifth. Chambers and Burn ran well to clock 10 flat....

This was easily the best final ever in the World Champs....

The change in the false start rule next year is total crap. The rule is fine just how it is.

Should go back to two per person. Someone getting disqualified from the Worlds or Olympics for a false start should be rare - it's a running race, not a starting competition.

Its all about time really. Plus for the athletes, it could get very nervy & a waste of mental energy if you have too much false starts.

The new rule is dumb because lets say Bolt false starts now, he is out. Thats BS, hopefully the athletes protest.

Shouldn't false start, though. They spend enough time training on starts to get it right when it really matters.

You can't duplicate the intensity & pressure of any sport in practice. That rule is going mess up sprinting..

Of course you can't, but sprinters work so hard on their starts that they should be okay to get it right. Starting is a huge part of any sprint, I have no sympathy for any athlete that false starts.

Don't think it will be a problem for Bolt anyway, amazingly enough speed out the blocks doesn't seem to be one of his strengthsx
