    Premier League Tipping 2009/10

    Now in thread!

The Oz Tips comp is all well and good, but I generally win because I'm the only man sad enough to tip practically every week. I thought, for the coming season, more active participation would result if we kept the tipping in the thread as per the NRL/AFL comps.

    Briefly then, the rules:

    1) 1 point per correct tip.

    2) Bonus points will be awarded for the week's top tipper(s), but these will only be used to separate posters who're on the same number of actual tips. As we have midweek games up here weeks are deemed to run from Sat-Fri.

    3) No editing of tips. At all. If you change your mind please quote your original tips in a new post. Avoids any potential skullbuggery and it's less easy to miss tips for me.

    4) Non-submitters get the lowest score for the week for three weeks, then will be removed from comp.

    5) Latecomers join on the lowest score minus one point.

    6) Tips for postponed games will not be carried forward. So if you tip Man U to beat Wigan in Januray, it gets rained off and rearranged for April you'll need to tip again at the time of the reschuduled fixture. Less of a ball-ache for me, basically.

    7) As we have three potential results & teams often play more than once a week please C&P the whole fixture and highlight your winner or write "draw" beside the fixture and highlight that.

& that's pretty much it. So here's the (current) fixtures for week one:

    Saturday, 15 August 2009

    Aston Villa v Wigan
    Blackburn v Man City
    Bolton v Sunderland
    Chelsea v Hull
    Everton v Arsenal
    Portsmouth v Fulham
    Stoke v Burnley
    Wolverhampton v West Ham

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Sunday, 16 August 2009

    Man Utd v Birmingham
    Tottenham v Liverpool

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Tuesday, 18 August 2009

    Fulham v Blackburn
    Sunderland v Chelsea
    Wigan v Wolverhampton

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Wednesday, 19 August 2009

    Birmingham v Portsmouth

    Happy tipping.

I wouldn't of if I couldn't changed, partially did it just because I want to see how it will have changed closer to the time.

Should Tuesday and Wednesday's matches be Week 2 matches? I'm just looking at the premier league fantasy comp which has them as Week 2.

Over 0.2: Putland to Nevill, OUT, no run, full ball swings in late to crash into his pads. Nevill is almost falling over trying to get bat on it but can't. Huge shout for LBW and Umpire Martell eventually raises the finger! P.Nevill - lbw b:Putland 0 (1 ball, 1 minute).
