Sherdog has been amazing these past couple of hours. So many tastings.
So funny with the site crashing

TBF, MMA is an interesting sport due to multiple variables that makes the outcome of many bouts uncertain

was epic how McCregor went for the take down knowing there was no way he'd effect it and probably knowing he'd get submitted. Pretty much just gave up.

Both he and Rousey have been exposed as complete frauds despite being worth 20 million plus

UFC should've taken a massive credibilitiy hit lately but undoubtedly the show will go on

Very happy with the two matches I knew something about. Always nice to see the supposed underdog winning. Although if I called Nate an underdog, he would stockton slap me to death.

Gutted. Conor was winning that fight. Got sloppy, got caught and quit. He went into panic mode (like he said other guys do, ironically), and paid for it. He was lighting Diaz up in that round, and probably got a little too confident. Nice to see classless guys like Aldo jumping on him though. At least Conor showed up. Jose seems to have forgotten about their fight a little too quickly. Conor's going to jump back down to 145 and clear up once again and show just how good he is. Don't write him off yet.

dunno what fight you were watching.

What fight were you watching? Conor clearly won the first round, and was landing on Diaz in the 2nd. He got too aggressive, Diaz caught him and it was game over. Diaz turned it on beautifully to end the fight, but until that moment Conor was winning the fight.

McCregor won the first round, sure. You can often do that when you come out all guns blazing but it's only going to win you the fight if you can knock the other guy out in that first round. He got a few swings in but it probably cost himself more than it did Diaz in terms of the energy he expended.

He was swinging wildly the whole fight which has worked for him in the past because the guys he fought couldn't take a punch. He wasn't landing in round two. He ran out of energy, got tagged himself and the fight was over.

Diaz was boxing properly in a way that was actually conducive to winning.

Had this been a pure boxing fight, McGregor would have undoubtedly won. He was faster on his feet, better with his hands and was truly lighting Diaz up through the first round and even into the second round. Diaz landed a great shot in counter which stunned McGregor and in UFC; once you're stunned you're effectively finished if the other fighter knows how to execute. McGregor underestimated how much carrying 25 pounds in the ring would do to him. You wouldn't expect a marathon runner to run anywhere near the same time if he was carrying 10KG more on his frame, so people saying "It's just an excuse" don't know too much about athletics.

Case and point though, UFC fighters should REALLY stop calling Floyd Mayweather Jr out. Rousey, Anderson Silva, McGregor now.

what.

Diaz' boxing is infinitely better than McCregor's.
I completely disagree, Diaz was taking shots through both rounds that no fighter should take through the middle considering his reach advantage over McGregor. If you look at his face at the end of the fight, that tells you the story of how frequently McGregor bounced shots off his face.

Diaz takes the much better shot and has much better conditioning (always has, the Diaz brothers are freaks with their cardio) and was able to out last McGregor, land something meaningful (one of his few meaningful punches too) and ultimately his finishing skills are superb, the moment it went to ground he was in a league above McGregor

But standing? McGregor was way more effective at the boxing basics. Any time the smaller fighter gets in so frequently on the bigger fighter, you have to say that.
