Wtf

The Saints kit is bizarre, has it been explained, I just turned over. It's okay for an away kit, but just doesn't look like Southampton.

Do we discuss our League in general here as well as the competition? Anything in the main thread just gets lost in with the Premier League dross.

Anyway a dreadful first half for the Greens against Southampton but a competent and fairly comfortable second half smash and grab. I would still expect Southampton to finish in the top 6 well ahead of us. I think though based on the second half we could be organised enough to put together enough points to avoid another relegation battle.

I dunno really, think it's probably best to do it in here, but there's no hard and firm rules. We've always discussed lower league stuff in the Official football thread, but there have been times recently that thread has turned a bit crap, IMO.

Anyway, decent result for you lot annoyingly.

I'm at home for the first day of the season, was at Darlo and Leeds, for the previous two season openers, but a home match is too much for me this season

To save me looking back randomly through the thread could we have a list of which member supports which club in this competition?

It looks like Oldham are the early leaders.

Sigh. Dominated those West Country Bumpkins, conceded a dodgy penalty but still only managed a draw. Enough baiting, though. Still a point away from home isn't too bad I suppose.

Our new £500,000 state of the art fibre-lastic pitch gets it's first outing tonight in the League Cup. It'll be a good test after days of seemingly non-stop rain. It certainly looks impressive but it'll take a bit of getting used to having a totally flat surface after years of having little slopes and undulations around the penalty areas and corners.

17 years since we won a game in this comp, can't say I'm confident we'll change that tonight
