Desmond Bane is a no-brainer 25% max guy. Wouldn't even think about it. Dude can handle the ball at an above-average level, play great defence and is one of the best 5 shooters in the league.

Until Giannis is up for his extension. It's just the nature of a cap that has max salaries based on percentages of the cap. It's like the NFL where the highest paid player is always the QB who signed the most recent contract.Only ones with value are genuine superstars with rest being basically worthless

These contracts are basically worthless as trade assets as nobody is giving up anything of value for Ball, Bane, Sabonis, etc on $40 million in the next few years
Worst thing is their teams are now stuck on the treadmill unless they unearth a genuine star

Every team in the league would trade for Ball or Bane right now. Bane is a lot better than you think (which is incredibly unsurprising) and LaMelo Ball is still only 21 and insanely talented.
The cap is going up every year for the next decade, most years will be the maximum off 10%. In 5 years these contracts won't be close to the biggest in the league.
