For the Aussie guys here; what's the word on Ben Simmons?

Signed with LSU, am reading he's a bit special.

Only heard about him through espn/grantland who talk about him as all but a lock as next years No.1 pick.

Just a few years ago the Northwest division was badass. Now they have Denver, Utah, Minny and Portland all looking like lotto teams next season.

*sighs*

Read an article indicating that they had interest. What would they be shedding to fit him in?

When does Curry's contract finish?

BARNES OUT
Curry has a cheap contract, only like 10 or 11m per year.

Anyways, they don't have to shed anyone, with the new NBA TV deal kicking in next season the cap will be going up between 20-30m over the next 2 seasons. Every team is going to have a ****load of cap space and Durant will genuinely be able to pick his team. As will any FA over the next few years, and that's the reason LeBron will be signing another 1 year deal.

This is why you've seen nearly every team throwing the current max at everyone and why players have been signing for money way over what they're worth (Middleton, Carroll, Harris, Knight etc etc) because these contracts are gonna be much cheaper soon enough.

Yeah, I know Curry's on cheap, but surely his next won't be - that's why I was asking when he comes out.

And it's nearly $40m over two years isn't it? Into the $80s for 16/17 and $100m for 17/18?

If you knew that then why would you ask who they would be shedding? They won't even need to, and if they did, it'll be Bogut 100%
The article mentioned Klay, and I didn't think that it made any sense - just wanted another perspective on it.

EDIT: ah, looked back at it, mentioned it being a sign and trade, with Thompson being the trade.
