Anyone see Spain-USA? Rubio was awesome. Just ****ing awesome. One more year at Barca and he's coming over to the NBA. Can not wait, this guy is the ****.

edit: And FIBA rules are so much better than the NBA rules. Bloody hell, it's like watching real basketball again. No more of the 40-34 like ft counts that you see in the NBA.

Melo on his way out it seems. Actually think we can get a good package for him. This is different from the Lebron and Bosh scenarios because Denver have the max contract that Melo needs. After the lockout we're going to see big changes in terms of dollar value, guaranteed money and possible franchise player rules (like in the NFL). Melo won't ever get another chance to get paid like this anymore so has to work with Denver to make sure both sides get what they are looking for.

Actually quite positive at what we could see happen. Of all the teams listed that Melo is interested in going to, the Clippers have great pieces. Could definitely see a package such as Kaman, Aminou, Clipper firsts and the unprotected first rounder they own from the Twolves being thrown around for Melo and filler. Would kill to be able to get back a guy like Eric Gordon for him though.

How good was Dragic though? **** I love watching that guy play. Seriously sick game from him. No Bogut really bit us though. If he was there no way Brezec looks like a bloody All Star. Big big loss for us, Slovenia are good but very beatable. Ah well, at least the Americans and Spain are still in it.

Yeah he had their back court in disarray on D as well. Lakovic made some ridiculous shots too.

Was hoping for a real contest in the second match but no such luck. Turkey well and truly owned France inside. Was ridiculous though how many 3's went down towards the end. Really stoked to see Asik playing well, apparently everyone loves the guy. Should get plenty of minutes in Chicago.

I wonder if any of the Kiwi members here are paying attention to the NZL-Russia match. Should go down to the wire unless Russia catches fire.

EDIT: Cameron looks like he's in the wrong sport. **** he's huge.

Brazil-Argentina was the game of the tournament so far. Really became a fan of Huertas this tournament. Big loss for the tournament having no Ginobli or Nene though. Along with Gasol the three biggest pieces the other contenders have missing.

Tbf this thread is way more active during the season, esp playoffs. Gutted to have missed the first two quarter finals but tonight's games should be sweet.

and that was like the 3rd or 4th best team the u.s could have put out there...:-O
Yup, though most other teams were missing key players as well. No Pau Gasol screwed Spain and Argentina were missing Manu. Still, the way USA played the final on the defensive end was awesome and would've bothered a full strength Spain IMO, I'd even say they were quite a bit better than the 2008 team in that respect. Eric Gordon was the biggest surprise for me.

Denver really should have pulled the trigger on the Favors, Kirilenko and two picks deal they had on the table. Flip Chauncey for more assets and eventually they'll be well under the cap, with a lot of picks and possibly a couple of very nice young players. Really hope the move goes through.
