Figured I'd get this thread started for all those Rugby sevens fans out there.

Dubai and George first up and the draw are already lloking enticing. Any early thoughts and predictions

Group C aought to be the most interesting with Samoa, Wales and Kenya all capable of nicking it on their day

Been to the Saturdays of the Twickenham rounds for the last couple of years. Cracking day out.

Kenya actually beat Australia in 2006 too, which got the biggest cheer of the day.

Competition for a place in the New Zealand Sevens side continues this week when 19 players will battle it out for 12 spots in the national team.

New Zealand coach Gordon Tietjens will name the squad of 12 for the opening IRB Sevens tournaments in Dubai and South Africa at the conclusion of the camp at Mt Maunganui on 23 November.

The kiwis are the world champions after winning a seventh IRB Sevens World Series title in June, following tournament wins in George (South Africa), London and Edinburgh during the 2006/2007 season.

New to the Sevens environment are Manawatu’s Aaron James and Waikato player Tim Mikkelson while Northland’s Aden Dewes returns from injury. Not attending the camp is Afeleke Pelenise who is suffering from a knee injury.

An exciting squad, actually, considering the sevens team has slowly been stripped of its players as they move up to Super 14. Thrilled for Aaron James to make the training squad - he played rugby for North Otago last year before getting a contract with Manawatu this season - he's a big, fast, powerful bloke who would be well suited to sevens.

Israel Dagg is a star in the making - had his season ruined by injury this year, but he's been compared to Christian Cullen, while big things are also expected of Victor Vito.

My guess for the 12? Tomasi Cama, Israel Dagg, DJ Forbes (c), Nigel Hunt, Tafai Ioasa, Zar Lawrence, Lote Raikabula, Rene Ranger (speedy winger who has impressed in two seasons for Northland), Victor Vito, Steven Yates, Edwin ****er, Aaron James/Nick Thomson.

NZ beat Fiji in the final good tournament for Kenya too, beat Wales and got to the plate semis

Seen some of this on the BBC tonight. England unlucky to reach the final. New Zealand deserved winners
