Think the list might have been made before Armstrong's fifth TdF, it's dated 2002.

Very dodgy list on outside the US stuff though. Virén on the list but not Zátopek, Jonathan Edwards or Al Oerter? Indurain ahead of Merckx (Indurain only won time trials, which helped him win overall)? Not too familiar with the squash but surely snooker or Aussie rules carries at least equal prestige? And where are the footballers post-1975 (Maradona aside?) - Platini, Romario, even Zidane ought to have been on in 2002.

Mr PG Brock. One of the finest.

Dunno about him making an all-time top 50 list, but he sure as hell should be up there in the next 50.

Hence:

"Dunno about him making an all-time top 50 list, but he sure as hell should be up there in the next 50."

Its a shame he never really took to international racing (bar the LeMans diasaters). But I guess that helped us to keep him local and love him as king of the mountain. Fine driver indeed.
