some people have missed the point with the way we selected the players, we wanted a collection of current stars (Lockyer/Johns/Marshall), up and coming stars (Stewart/SBW/Gallen) and retired stars (Langer/Daley/Stuart).
We also tried to include a lot of the players who did things like won premierships, clive churchill medals, Dally M's etc...

Its hard to put everyone in when chosing only 64.

Well we are taking the battle to new heights... Its the Battle of the NRL Stars...

Before you AFL clowns come in and say were copying, Yeah we are, but you know what... It doesnt matter cause AFL dont count

64 players from 1995-2007 have been selected to take part in the battle, which will leave us with 1.. The greatest NRL Star since 1995..

No we haven't missed the point, the point was clearly stated that we're trying to find the Greatest Star since 1995.

Taylor is currently the 2nd all time leading Point Scorer, won the Rothmans in 96, and led the Bears to the finals 5 years in a row. He HAS to be in there. Seeing as it's one player for another, i suggest Taylor in for Orford or Campbell.

Ryan Girdler holds the following point-scoring records:
Most Points in a Match (Penrith) - 28
Most Goals in a Season (Penrith) - 78
Most Points in a Season (Penrith) - 229
Most Points (Penrith) 1,472
Most Goals in a Match (NSW) - 10
Most Points in a Match (NSW) - 32
Most Points in a Series (NSW) - 52
Most Tries in a Series (NSW) - 5 (joint held with Tiquiri)
Most Goals in a Series (NSW) - 16
Most Goals in a Match (Australia) - 17
Most Points in a Match (Australia) - 46

He was also the first man in Rugby League to score the double of 100 tries & 500 goals, only recently joined by Hasem El Maseri. He Also won a premiership with Penrith in 2003, and is 7th on the list of alltime pointscorers. I propse that Ryan Girdler, be swapped with Paul Bowman.

Steve Renouf is the alltime leading Try Scorer for the Broncos with 142 tries, in the selected period on 2 occasions he scored 4 tries in the one match, he also scored a hattrick in the 97 SL grand final to lead the Broncos to victory. Known as "The Pearl" for obvious reasons. Steve Renouf to be swapped for Tahu or Hodges

Darryl Halligan - Currently the 3rd all-time leading pointscorer, won the Comp with the Dogs in 95, and played a big part in plenty of wins with his 80% accuracy with the boot. Was also a top class winger. Darryl Halligan in for Brett Stewart

more to come later.

I agree with Taylor, Girdler, Renouf and Toovey. But i would still have Sonny Bill Williams, Hodges and Benji Marshall. On Matthew Ridge and Mullins didn't they both play their best football before 95? I think its laughable to consider taking out Tahu, he was one of best winger in that era.

The four players i would take out for the first four are Stewart, Gallen, Campbell and Bowman.

Also Mad dog should be there, like Tahu he was one of best wingers in that era.

Also if you want an up and coming star then surely Matt King and Matt Cooper have to be there. They been brilliant in the last couple season, you can't have Hodges and not them.

.
Mullins was playing footy for what 7 years after 1995, which proves that he was still a very good player. Maybe his best football was pre-1995 he played good 95 and onwards.

tbh he really only came of age in 1994 so to say all his best football was pre 95 is wrong...

Civoniceva for me, 28 tests for Australia (2nd most for an australian forward) and his record speaks for itself.
