Battle of the AFL Stars

You're all lucky this is from 96 onwards.

Because the fury this man unleashed on the AFL in 1995 has never been matched since:

Haha, my cricket captain used to get into nightclubs saying he was Stephen Jurica.

Also, one establishment still thinks he's Ben Dixon. Or, more likely, they've caught on that he's not, but don't care and love it how he's always there.

International Captain
There should be 32 max I reckon. Carey, Voss, Hird, Buckley and maybe a couple of others are the only ones with a realistic chance of winning.

OK, I'm going to start a list now, and I'll come back and edit it because I can do it whenever I want, because I'm a mod and you other spuds aren't.

Love your work Jack.

And lol @ your friend pretending to be Jurica. He's actually a lawyer now, absolutely hilarious. A mate of mine sent him a letter saying how he's our hero, seeing as we're both doing law degrees and adored him in 95.

Biggested one year wonder replacement for Richo I've ever seen.

LOL at all the crappy Lions and Carlton players on the list. Seriously if your going to do it proper you should take out half those jokers.

haha, the list will be culled. But really, you should be hung if your calling any of Voss, Aker, Leppa, Lynch, Brown or Lappin crappy.

Refering more to the Carton players TBH. Also Essendon were quite brilliant during that period. Sydney and West Coast have also been brillant in the last couple seasons.

Seriously though:

Nathan Burke
Great servant, not quite good enough for me though.
Chris Grant
Yes
Paul Kelly
Maybe, although straddles the time period a bit.
Garry Hocking
Yes. Something like 6 top 3 finishes in the Brownlow. Silly.
Luke Darcy
No.
Joe Misiti
No
Dustin Fletcher
Maybe. Very consistent, but never ever been the best fullback in the competition at any one time. I'd still slip him in, just.
Shannon Grant
No.
Josh Francou
No.
Barry Hall
Consideration.
Jason Dunstall (retired end of 98)
Not long enough, IMO.
Glenn Archer
Yes.
Jeff White
No. Too much of a yoyo form-wise, much like Melbourne till two years ago.
Mark Mercuri
No.
Wayne Campbell
Harsh, but no.

Open to debate tbh.[/QUOTE]

Cousins and Judd only for WCE. Kerr misses out, but not by a huge amount. Just not enough season under his belt of really top class football, even though he's probably been playing longer than Judd, Judd's a class above.

Hall only Swan that would make it close to the top 50 players of the last 10 years, which is no insult and I think the Swans heirarchy would take it as a compliment in many ways. No other side has been better at doing team things in that same period.
