The Anti-Gallop Thread

This is the thread to vent all your frustrations about David Gallop.
I can't handle the way he botched the radio, TV and internet rights as well as the farce surrounding the whole sponsorship thing. And then Graham Hughes owned him on the radio.
I blame him for the debacle that was the grand final (there was a fitting headline the next day: "Broncos gallop to grand final win".
He has the personality of a lightpole, and looks like one too.
But, probably the worst thing was when the Bulldogs won the comp in 2004 and he didn't smile.

David Gallop is dire indeed. His handling of the internet and mobile rights situation (or lack thereof) sums it all up really.

we'll give this thread a chance, but its going to the sports forum...
Gallop is meh, there's been worse people involved in Rugby League, everyone employed by the daily telegraph to "write"about League for a start...

Gallop is a joke. He is left for dead by the administrators of every other code of football played in Australia.

You mean like Gary Flowers who is THIS close to getting hoisted out of his ARU job?

at least Flowers has started up the new "third-tier" competition in australia, whether it'll be a success remains to be seen, but you can't say he's not being pro-active in trying to grow his game in the country. you can hardly blame him for the performances of the wannabes.
i've already outlined some of gallop's screw-ups, those are just some of the major ones, there are many more. he's far too obsequious to the media outlets who have abused the game for years. he's a news ltd lackey who's sole interest is in making money, which more often than not conflicts with what is in the best interests of the game.

Isn't the Under 21 comp something that you would call pro-active?

It isn't up and running yet for one.
Two, it'll do even more damage to some of the lower grade compeitions such as the Qld Cup and Bartercard Cup. An example of the importance of the lower grades is Greg Inglis, who was spotted and signed by Norths Devils in the Queensland Cup and pretty much went to Melbourne by default due to Norths being their feeder club. He could've been lost from the game if it weren't for Norths.
