I'm curious. How did you guys get into baseball? And what made you select your respective teams to follow? I give both of you props for not picking the Yankees/Red Sox/Cubs as that would've certainly been the easy way to go.

I was living in Japan when Ichiro started out in MLB. M's game every morning. 116 wins!

But have been a fan of American sports since forever.

I used to hate baseball but in around 2006 (sadly enough) ****mark00 told me off and told me that if I actually tried to understand it I'd love it 'cause I'm a massive stat geek. He was right.

I picked Tampa because one of my best friends at uni was from Tampa and loved the Rays.

Won't lie, it's fun watching him pitch. Should've listened to you and DCYE, and gone to the game yesterday. Will probably go tomorrow for the series decider.

Ok seriously what the **** is happening with Albert Pujols?

I'm a Cards supporter so kinda enjoying this extended period of rubbishness but it's almost getting ridiculous. I'm well aware that due to me typing this he's likely to hit a grand slam in his next at-bat or something (will have at least one more AB tonight) but even if he does that's still his first homer this season.

Twice previously he's had less than 5 homers in his first 23 games of the season. In 2003 he only had 3, but had a BA of .359, and in 2008 he hit just 4 yet was hitting .377. Presently it's something like .211, to go with 5 RBIs.

Throughout his whole career he's been able to hit for both average and power, and on the odd occasion one has gone missing, the other has usually still been acceptable. Surely his numbers will be decent-ish come the end of the season but it's a heck of a fall from grace for a guy on $240 million.

It's like 100 bucks for the season or something right? I've been thinking about getting it, always kinda liked baseball but it's super hard to follow consistently from here obviously.

Yeah 100 for the standard, 114 for the Premium (which is worth it). I got the MiLB package as well which is an extra 20 bucks, mainly to watch Bryce Harper which is pointless now but it always gives you something to watch and 20 bucks isn't going to change my life.

In terms of performance it's up there with NBAtv in quality, really awesome stuff. I just plug my laptop into my tv with a HDMI cable and use my bluetooth mouse. LML.

Premium is just for your phone and **** isn't it? Or is there something else I'm missing? I might pick up the normal package at least.
