Don't particularly enjoy baseball, but as there's absolutely no other sports on midweek these days have been watching a fair bit of it. Watched Sanchez pitch that no-hitter the other day, was awesome.
Saw the HR derby as well which was awesome.

That no-hitter was insane. Sanchez isn't even a regular starter for SF.
So the Phillies have signed Pedro. He was awful last season and hasn't played at all this season. Quote:

Mark Buehrle throws a perfect game, I'll be damned.
Also Ed, the Mets are screwed this year, but sadly Omar Minaya seems to think we still have a chance. Best thing than can probably happen is he doesn't trade away any more prospects and gets fired at the end of the season. |

Awesome, Game 7 of the 01 WS on ESPN America. They've been doing lots of archive games recently, so good.

What have the Pirates done with their trades? They've let all but one of their Opening Day line-up go this season. I don't see how these moves will help them in the future in any way. I'm glad I'm not a Pittsburgh fan.

I'm glad the Rangers didn't pull the trigger on the Roy Halladay trade. The Blue Jays were asking for our top 2 prospects, our highly rated rookie pitcher Dereck Holland, PLUS 1 to 2 mid-level prospects. That's selling the entire farm! Granted Halladay is the best pitcher in baseball, but you can't mortgage your team's future for one player.

Agree with that.
I wonder what effect all this has had on Halladay though - he's playing for a team that would gladly have let him go if they'd got the right offer. Would surely leave a bit of a sour taste in the mouth. |
