Germany and Serbia will laugh and collect their clean sheets if we play Kennedy alone up front. He's decent, but he's not a good target man, and has succeeded against Asian teams largely because of their inability to deal with his height and strength.

We have to hope for massive tournaments from Timmeh, Harry and hope McDonald starts scoring in a yellow jumper imo.

I think Ghana are beatable, but will be very tough on their home continent, with assumed good support. Hopefully Serbia repeat their 06 jitters and Germany start off the tournament slowly.
AWTA. Finding the back of the net from a regular source is going to be our Achilles heel - relying on an AMC who floats forward in dead-ball situations ain't gonna get us anywhere

And I can't see it lasting long.

The Force started off like a house on fire, but even their crowds have dropped big time (but might pick up with the change of stadium). League isn't even on the same radar as Union here due to the ex-pat Saffers, so it will be an uphill battle for the NRL.

The NRL is just being ****s, take a season on the road and play in regional areas (Adopt a region for a season perhaps), plenty of chances for expansion and facility improvement as well.

Super 15 not really affected, can just easily change the aussie home games to away games or have them all played at ballymore.
Yeah it's crazy, there are so many ways around it. For starters you could have split rounds for the duration of the World Cup so if there is still 16 teams there would be just 4 weeks affected while the cup is on.

You could play 2 matches on Saturday and Sunday from say midday to five and have both of them live or whatever. They could play in more regional areas like you say or just play the matches at suburban grounds, too easy.

But we need to think of the children, all the kids will be devestated that a genuine global event has come to australia andthere may not be any NRL, AFL or Union on for a couple of months, oh the humanity. I'd be happy for each season to be straight up cancelled if thats what it took for the world cup to be hosted here, greater good etc.

Don't think they'd want Etihad stadium tbh.

Victoria to be snubbed for World Cup games then, simple solution. Redevelop exisiting stadiums (Central Coast, Townsville, Ballymore) and bulid new ones if need be. **** Victoria if the AFL is too precious IMO.

They've used it as part of their bid package, as the new oblong stadium doesn't have large enough capacity.

Etihad needs the AFL, so they won't cross them.

AFL take over ownership of Etihad in about 7 years or so. Much like the deal that they have/are trying to strike with Telstra Stadium.
