That Tweddle girl was the guest speaker at my school prize-giving this year, I had to say a vote of thanks to her and give her this present. Gymnastics =! sport as far as I'm concerned.

If you look here they have the shortlists for received from each newspaper/media source. Wellens didn't make a single top 10, Sean Long was in the Guardian's but was the only RL player i can see.

That really just shows what a complete joke our media is over here. Panesar did moderately well in a few Test matches and yet appears to be in almost every list. Jenson Button won one race, yet he gets nominations too. Murray won one title too. Wow. This is a high benchmark we're setting for British sportsmen/women.
The Daily Record nominated Sven-Goran Eriksson and Wales on Sunday put Brian Noble. WTF? If a soccer player had done half of what Wellens has this year, they'd already be putting his name on the trophy. **** I hate the media. |

Some of the nominations for SP just confirm what a diabolical year it has been for English sport.. Panesar would be an horrific choice
Whoever this rugby league fellow is, well great, but I'm afraid he's unlikely to win because the ignorant south don't have a clue about rugby league, and to be quite honest, don't care about it in the slightest.. |
