British sports personality of the year

BoyBrumby

Englishman
Tony McCoy, IMHO. Finally landed the National, been best in his field since God was a lad and genuinely good bloke too.

Gooner as well, which doesn't hurt.

Totally dated concept this. Really annoys me that the BBC no doubt pay all their presenters a truck load and go to town on making it all glitz and glam for something nobody gives a ****e about. The whole thing could be done in a studio with a cameraman and one presenter, and last about 15 minutes. No need for the horrible black tie, big pretentious, ass kissing fest that they ram down the viewers throat. Spend the licence payers' money elsewhere, ****s.

Swann to win it obviously

Edit: Having said that, the time when they gave the lifetime achievement award to Bobby Robson was top stuff and very moving, so at least they got that right.

Haven't watched it in years tbh but sledger's a ****

Always enjoy it when I watch it though.

Was made up in 05 when Freddie won it.

Have lost all interest/respect for it since Zara Phillips won it - couldn't give a donkey's nadgers who won this time around.

Last year's result was the bigger farce TBH.

Mind you there's only a couple on this years that would deserve it IMO.

Yep.

Saw some odds in the paper today.
McCoy 4/5
Female athlete of some description 16/1
Daley 20/1
Swann 25/1
Haye 40/1
Cavendish 66/1

Won less than a quarter of the main competition of a sport, which only makes the news once a year outside of the Olympics, and that only Morris cares about.
Or something

didn't realise she'd won it tbh - reason is that John Curry winning it did the same for me as she did for Neil and its meant nowt ever since

If by "has the best persona" you mean "is a chippy douchebag" then, yes, yes he is.
Noo, he has a bad rep for being a **** a few years ago, but is by all accounts a very decent bloke these days. Very team orientated and dedicated, always speaks to the media and does a fair bit of charity work.

Anyway, even if you think he is a douchebag, at least he has a personality unlike about 99% of other British sportsmen.

I would say Haye, Swann and Daley all have character tbh. Though Daley is a turd and Haye is a bit of a knobhead as well.
