Hope his talents transfer to the senior code rather better than our other NZ poachs have. Could potentially add a bit of guile to our centres; him outside Geraghty or Flood sounds enticing on paper.

Well when you say that to people, they are really impressed, but they don't realise that it was a very small amateur club a the time

Fair play to Big Lol; goes out with a title. Was supporting the Tigers, but he's been a great servant to English rugby over the years.

Riki Flutey (soon to be England's Riki Flutey if the rumours are true, wonder what Volts makes of that) had an amazing game at 10.

Yeah he did, gun player. Surprised van Gisbergen played so well ITBT, was expecting him to bottle the kicking like Goode did. Ellis should start at scrum-half this summer IMO.

Interesting to see Wales have adopted the New Zealand inspired tactic of not training or getting accustomed to playing at altitude and instead have opted to train in Cape Town.
If it wasn’t Peter de Villiers first match and the side wasn’t as experimental as it is, you would lay heavily on a Springbok win, especially considering Wales are quite fancied amongst some quarters.

Also, rather strange story in the South African press that the hapless Golden Lions are trying to sign Jonny Wilkinson for their Currie Cup campaign.

Dan Carter having a bit of a mare against the Irish.

The Sky commentators are saying Henry won't be able to survive a loss today. Hmm

Bit of an arm-wrestle, but you always thought the ABs would have enough. Bit of magic from Carter leads to the second try, but wasn't great overall.

Only saw the second half but what awful conditions.

Found it pretty amazing that after the match, Brian O'Driscoll said he'd never played rugby in colder conditions than what it was tonight in Wellington.

Picked Ireland to win that tbh. And tbh I think Ireland played a much, much better game. Looked bloody cold as well.
