Music Oracle: Euro 2012

For those of you not familiar with the great music oracle concept, it's a devastatingly easy idea.

One puts one's iTunes (or whatever music player you kwazee kidz use in 2012 now we've discovered electricity and Spikey can enter into a civil partnership with the partner of his choice) onto shuffle and asks it some questions. The skill is in deciphering the oracle's somewhat cryptic responses.

England are looking surprisngly unturd, Music Oracle, are they actually a chance at winning it?
Hometown Farewell Kiss - The Triffids
-Hmm. We can kiss local hopes goodbye, then. I'll take that as a resounding "no".

Ok then, who will win?
Sleep On The Left Side - Cornershop
-Sounds like a sound night's sleep for a left leaning country. France has just elected a Socialist president, so it could be good news for Johnny Frog.

The Netherlands' defence was a bit pony, wasn't it? What went wrong?
Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown) - Cornershop
-Sounds like they've been watching the Norse too much and not seeing the wood for the trees.

Who's going to be the top scorer?
Someday - The Strokes
-I suppose it was inevitable Ronaldo would do it someday, yes.

What's the deal with Gomez tho? How can someone look so gash and score so many goals?
Suedehead - Morrissey
-It's all about his short hair, apparently.

Was Woy the right choice for England's manager?
Graffiti - Maximo Park
-The writing's on the wall? Maybe not then.

Was he right to take Rooney despite the suspension?
Did She Overtake You - Robert Forster
-The "she" can only refer to the French national emblem Marianne, and she didn't, so yes, yes he was.

Are the linos behind the goal-line worse than useless?
Live Forever - Oasis
-Half-arsed compromises come and go, but the beautiful game is eternal and doesn't need them.

Whose commentary is worse: BBC or ITV?
She Bangs The Drums - The Stone Roses
-Aunty Beeb's team has rather beaten a jingoistic drum this year, yes, so the BBC.

Are sponsored pants really worse than racism?

Wonderwall - Oasis
-"Wonderwall" is meaningless, as are UEFA's fines.

What can be done about the racist chanting then?
Barrel Of A Gun - Depeche Mode
-Ha, 'nuff said.

England to exit on pens tho?
Little Wonder - David Bowie
-Yeah, wouldn't be much of a wonder if they did.

---

Feel free to ask your oracle these questions or add your own.

Was going to try but it would just look terrible in comparison to the above, so I'll leave it there.

Who's going to win?
A King and a Queen- Okkervil River

No access to a computer but I fancy a go so I'll do this with my iPhone, does mean a narrower range of music but.

Using Brumby's q's largely coz I cbf to think of my own

England are looking surprisngly unturd, Music Oracle, are they actually a chance at winning it?
Monkberry Moon Delight - Paul & Linda McCartney
your guess is as good as mine really, unless the delight is all mine.

Ok then, who will win?
Peggy Sue - John Lennon
-And old classic performed by the master - could only mean Germany

The Netherlands' defence was a bit pony, wasn't it? What went wrong?
Dig It - The Beatles
-Don't ask why - just be glad they're out.

Who's going to be the top scorer?
Mardy Bum - Arctic Monkeys
-Rooney hat-trick on the cards then

What's the deal with Gomez tho? How can someone look so gash and score so many goals?
(Get Off Your) High Horse Lady - Oasis
-I suppose if he's scoring goals, who are we to judge him?

Was Woy the right choice for England's manager?
Put Your Dukes Up John - Little Flames
-yes indeed, it is thanks to John Terry and his uncouth ways .

Was he right to take Rooney despite the suspension?
(Probably) All In The Mind - Oasis
-Wazza's problems are definitely temperamental. Doesn't really answer my question though.

Are the linos behind the goal-line worse than useless?
Losing Touch - The Killers
-Yes, or rather shouldn't that be 'Lost Touch' for twatini.

Whose commentary is worse: BBC or ITV?
The Age Of The Understatement - Last Shadow Puppets
-No time for either of them, clearly.

Are sponsored pants really worse than racism?

If Not For You - George Harrison
Not for me or anyone else aside from the ****heads running European football.

What can be done about the racist chanting then?
Sweet Talk - The Killers
not sure we should be incentivising people not to display prejudice, but whatever.

England to exit on pens tho?
Made of Stone - The Stone Roses
-Constant shoot out defeats will make you feel that way. No use crying over the same old ****.
