Oh wait no we've all been watching a different game. Mr Hollywood Pass linked up really well with the rest of the team in the first half according to Andy Townsend.

By far the worst thing about Gerrard being captain is he's an automatic pick when he should be struggling to make the bench.

Club move there from Walcott and Ox, trying to walk it into the net and not even getting a shot off.

Jesus Christ whatever Downing does Townsend tries to make a criticism out of it. The same dickhead who spends the entire matching saying how great Gerrard has been, or when he does mess it up it's an "uncharacteristic error".

Reckon the fact that Downing is complete and utter **** is probably related.

Walcott looks completely bereft of confidence. The 2 or 3 times he's been in decent positions, he's simply bottled out of making a telling contribution.

Yea, that cross just now from a good position was an absolute nothing play. The sort of attacking contribution I'd expect from Milner or Jones.

Still can't believe Adam Johnson wasn't in the squad.

"Perfunctory" is the word.

Plus side is Rob Green improved as the game wore on; commanded his area second half.

Johnson looked so much better than Downing it was embarrassing for both too.

Typical Feo; positional play was ok, but no end product.

That's not a lack of confidence, that's what he always does.

Carroll was IMO. Got on the end of pretty much every corner Jones gave away

Can't work out why a 23 man squad plus standbys was named when he knew he'd be missing so many from that squad for this game.

Not sure why Terry wasn't in Oslo tonight, seeing as his CL final efforts were limited to stealing the limelight.

In other news, Jones is **** (but apparently a good athlete), Downing not much better (without the athlete part) and our 3rd choice keeper (only first team experience to date is in League 2) is on holiday in Mexico.

Watched the first half. How bad are Norway? Gamst is their attacking outlet and that guy has been static for the past three years. Load of big blokes with no technical ability and no pace. Dire.

Belgium game should be more entertaining. Lots of talent and proven quality but not gelled as a team yet.
