That was pretty close to a sitter for Carroll.

None of Bayern Munich's players are involved, which is basically the goalkeeper, 3 of the first choice back 4, 2 central midfielders, Muller and Gomez.

Germany are experimenting and using the opportunity to give their fringe players a chance to stake a claim.

Hilariously soft goal. Well taken, mind.

Trouble is everyone one of these challenges by Carroll will be a free kick to the defending side come the competitive matches, because the game is glorified netball.

Green still looking kinda rubbish.

Trademark Milner there. That's why he's just not good enough at international level. Gets a great position to pick a cross and just floats it chest high to the first defender. He'll do the same thing over and over again.

Effing clueless, tbh.

Mind you, why Jones left the near post so quickly I don't know.

Well, I could hazard a guess, but I'm far happier in denial.

Astonishing that Gerrard didn't even get a yellow card for that one. Possibly the cleanest contact he's made all night - his ball retention has been as dire as ever. Obviously Lampard's been in better form than Gerrard lately, but for some reason Stevie's been given an automatic starting place with the captain's armband.

Parker's been light years ahead of the rest of the midfield. Milner simply isn't good enough, but he is still better than Downing.

And I hadn't realised how poor Jones' control is nowadays.
