Partially - not overly concerened, just may cause confusion and/or conflict having the same team participate in matches with 2 different databases against 2 different sets of opposition. On top of that, international cricket is a future development for the CWC and as such I would like to keep the sense of occasion when we do cross that frontier.

EDITED to remove any traces of angst which my coffee/ciggarette breakfast has since resolved.

DJellett, with all due respect you are taking things far, far too seriously. Little things like this are ideal for keeping up interest - we're here to have fun and enjoy ourselves, and people might lose interest if they feel they're being forced into things.

I might empathise with the need for activity a little more if the first game wasn't scheduled for tomorrow.

All very easy to say it's being taken too seriously; but if you'd invested the time and energy which I have into getting this organised, you too would feel more than justified in protecting your investment.

That's fine, but if you get too heavy-handed, people might get put off. We're all in this for fun, after all.

I don't think I was being heavy-handed in the slightest; rather, simply stating my concerns over the activity, and ensuring these don't evolve into problems.

Whilst it is true you are all in it for fun, the same is not the case for me - I am in it to create that fun for you all. My only aim is generating fun and joy for others, with a decent amount of work involved, and you must appreciate that there are other players with different excpectations to yours with regard to the sim. It is a difficult task to keep every individual happy, and I am doing my best.

My concerns mostly revolve around:

Quote:
Any such postings in future will be moved to a more appropriate forum. Wanton violation of this decision will be dealt with as deemed appropriate. Thank you
Which, to me, just seems unnecessary. This is a community; I seriously, seriously doubt that anyone would have major qualms about a few random trial matches being simmed to the side - and, more to the point, if they did then I'm sure that there would be no problem with them just saying so themselves.

And I have no qualms either - if they are posted as and where appropriate. To conduct matches with no relevance to CWC, with an entirely different database to CWC, and in conflict with the CWC, is therefore inappropriate in the CWC forum.

I don't think this needs to become a serious issue. What's done is done, and the matches remain posted - I am merely indicating that in future, I would prefer independent matches, with the potential to cause confusion and conflict with CWC, are not conducted without some form of understanding with the admin.

A vibrant community is exactly what we all want and need for this to be a success. However, a disorganised community is prone to chaos and confusion. I only seek to avoid this.

This is actually interesting!
To follow my team. And my alter ego. Being bowled by Sunil "Gay-Haircut" Narine twice in a match

Only suggestion would be to sim one match per day.

Team subbies to run these types of things in, IMO

It's like the PumasPL all over again.

Despite the probably unnecessary controversy over the simming of the matches, appreciate the effort involved from TBY. Certainly raised my interest in the competition as a whole.

Starting to think I'm not suited for the OD format. Two games isn't much of a sample though, so hopefully I'll manage to get my act together in the next few outings.
