Captains are requested to post their XI for the first T20 ASAP; as there are 3 games to be played on this first day, please post 3 seperate XI's if you will be unable to re-select later.

Captains are reminded that team success in this mini-series is of little consequence; the purpose of these matches is to trial players in the lead up the draft. With this in mind, captains are encouraged to ensure all players get some match time.

Teams are to be posted in the following format; denoting captain, wicket-keeper, batting and bowling orders.

1. A Player
2. B Player
3. C Player (5)
4. D Player
5. E Player (c)
6. F Player
7. G Player (wk)

Make sure all the first six bowlers get some sort of a bowl. Only bowl Spark if necessary.
(assuming your sim has over-by-over control)

T20 Trial Match One
CWC Trial XI A vs CWC Trial XI B

The CWC pre-season kicked off with the first of three T20 matches at the Trialist A training compound.

CWC Trial XI B captain JD Hurricane won the toss, and elected to bowl first on a wicket with a tinge of grass on top. Atul Sharma rewarded his captain's faith early, the fast man grabbing the wicket of Ames in a tidy opening spell. The B Trial bowlers kept it tight throughout, creating pressure for the A Trial middle-order; and indeed, the persistence of the fast-bowling all-rounder Spas Delev was rewarded with a handy 3/23 (3). Of the A Trial batsmen, only Spark offered sustained resistance and remained 48 not out at the end, supported by a quick cameo from captain Chris Lewis at the death. Trial XI A managed to muster 6/130 from their 20 overs in tricky conditions.

The response from Trial XI B got off to a sluggish start, with the slower bowlers making it difficult to score. Ingram kept hopes alive, capitalising on a solid start to strike some crucial boundaries in the middle overs, until he was run-out from a direct hit by Townsend. Trial A XI captain Lewis continued to apply the pressure, and was rewarded with the critical wicket of Mork. It wasn't all good news for Trial A, however, as captain Hurricane and keeper Howe dug in for the B's. The partnership flourished, remaining undefeated at the end; but despite a late onslaught from Howe, the pair could not make up for the slow start and fell agonisingly short.

T20 Trial Match Two
CWC Trial XI A vs CWC Trial XI B

Match 2 on day one of the mini-series saw a hungry Trial XI B eager to down their opponents on home turf and level the ledger on the day.

Trial XI A skipper Lewis, who lead his team to success in the opening game of the series, won the toss and elected to maintain the winning formula from that match and bat first. Opening pair Ames and Spark added 64 for the 1st wicket, with last game's man of the match Spark playing a dour role in stark contrast with Ames, cavalier at the other end. It took the multi-talented Zadran and Delev to dismiss the pair, but not before they had put their side in a strong position. Townsend and Jellett came out looking to consolidate and did just that, keeping the scoreboard ticking along throughout the overs; and though Townsend was narrowly run out near the end, the side managed to amass a respectable 3/145.

Trial XI B started the chase in a very different manner than in game one, attacking from the outset - du Toit with a couple of boundaries in the first over before being bowled by Wisney, who would end up with 2/34 for the day. The middle order struggled against the medium pace of Yamadera, who kept things tight with a fine display of stump-to-stumo bowling. He was eventually rewarded with 3/10, decimating the heart of the B XI lineup. One batsmen he could not contain, however, was the resplendent Hakon Mork - who, with a dashing 62* off 34, turned the match on its head and ensured another tight finish...
