Rik 5/32 vs the West Indies at the Oval
Natwest
Defending just 233 runs against the West Indies on the flat Oval pitch, captain Rich_2001 tossed the new ball to left-arm spinner Rik in a moment of true improvisation. There was no immediate success, but Rik returned to take the crucial wicket of Chris Gayle for 65, then dismissing Ricardo Powell and wrapping the tail as the West Indies lost 5/11 to collapse to 204 all out. Rik finished with the fine figures of 9-2-32-5.

Neil Pickup 5/23 vs Zimbabwe at Hobart
VB
Bowling with 258 runs in the bank, the CW XI saw Zimbabwe reach 144/3. Needing something to happen soon, Rich_2001 tossed the ball to Neil Pickup. The results were spectacular - 6.1-0-23-5 - as he got Marillier, Taibu, Ervine, Streak, Price and Zimbabwe fell away for 224.

David Kennett 7/22 vs South Africa at Potchefstroom
Tri-series
This is the stuff a bowler dreams of. On a chilly evening during the day/night game between South Africa and the CW XI, in their first ever ODI series, David Kennett engraved his name in CW XI history. Not only was he the first person to take a 5-wicket haul in an ODI for the CW XI, but he went on to produce one of the most sensational spells seen in ODI cricket. Having to defend only 209 runs, the CW XI needed something special, and David came on as 3rd change. He then removed Smith, Rudolph and McKenzie over the course of one over, then got Hall, Pollock and Elworthy to close off with 9.3-1-22-7. Needless to say, the CW XI won by a comfortable 41 runs.

Lucky Eddie 5/35 vs Zimbabwe at the Adelaide Oval
VB
Lucky Eddie has enjoyed his playing time against Zimbabwe, but at no time more than on this day. For on this day, Eddie would dismiss Vermeulen, Sibanda, Wishart, Flower and Taibu, to single-handedly leave the score at 63/5. The Zimbabweans never recovered and Lucky Eddie just proceeded to tweak his figures to economy and ended with 10-0-35-5.
