Really?

Last time I checked your batting was about 35 and bowling 25...
yeah but i'm not on any of the leading runs or wicket-taking lists or anything like that, that said in my original signup form my average was 20 batting and 15 bowling which was my real life averages

All I can say is that if I knew that just about every other rookie would exaggerate their stats at the beginning of this season, then I would have to. I think it's crap when you see a guy like Loc come in, give himself a huge batting rating and then proceed to batter a whole bunch of runs, while the guys who were more realistic about their "ability" have been watching from the pavillion for most of the season...

I agree something has to be done, but then what do you do when a whole batch of players leave at the end of any particular season? Would the overall quality of the sim suffer from a lack of talent?

Thats good, coz 45 is definitely over the top.

I came on as a specialist batsmen with 31 for batting and about 54 for bowling.

I initially put my batting average to 54 :( but it was lowered to 40 as a specialist batsmen. Hey! Red needed a good rookie..

But yes, I think these are great ideas, and Loc should have his average put to 20 and SR to 200 (hey, makes it interesting)

i became a specialist batsman in season 2 with a batting ave of 28
Yeah, I mean thats good, thats nice and modest, good for the game, and then allows a new player to have to establish themselves and move their stats up through the seasons.

*wishes I had joined up in season 2*

i signed up as an all rounder though :p never really bowled much and became a batsman (with an occasional bowl and occasional wicket keep)

IRL im a better bowler than batsman too

IRL I have only played one or two proper matches, but I have trained alot.. (Not because of being unselected, but games being washed out!)

I consider myself an allrounder.. an offspinner/medium bowler and an aggressive batter.. My offspinners have taken a turn for the better ;) But yeah, I am completely unlike my signup stats.

IRL I only got into cricket at around the age of 13/14 and was badly injured when I was 15, so I'm not allowed to play competitive cricket. When having fun at school or something, though, I was said to be an okay spin and seam bowler, a fast but shoddy fielder and a decent batsman who although could get runs steadily, had trouble when it came to hitting sixes. :p

Nothing can be done this season, as this season's rookies would then have an unfair advantage over new rookies. Players will be compensated for past experience when an "Experience points" plan comes into effect.

thought id post this here...

***************************************************************************************************

To Liam, Lord, Important People (Steds), I propose that a statement is issued with regards to this situation. Itd be great if you could talk to All-rounders currently in the system and ask them to become a specialist. Obviously you dont have to make anyone do it, but I think if you formally put foward the request, a lot of people would take up the offer. I would quite like this WHOLE THING to be as realistic as possible, and I really liked the addition of the Coach (even though Richard, you havent done a huge lot, I like having you around :) ) and the fact that we have real player names.
I find it rather UN-realistic having practically everyone in the team being able to bowl. Id also imagine that specialists (like myself) would be annoyed (ever so slightly :p ) that they dont get that much of a bowl. I am very happy that I have been given a huge opportunity with the ball the last two season. But I dont think everyone is getting a fair shot at it. I guess this arguement is rather biased towards me and my bowling friends, but then again, everyone HAS to bat.
When I signed up, I had a batting average of just below 20 I think, but my batting has not prospered much at all (average of 4 this season)... and I dont care! Its awesome being a bunny, it makes me grateful for every run I get :D Seriously, even though in real life I average now 17 with the bat, I quite like being not as successful with the bat, its a different role and a fun one.
Obviously, if you really want to be an all-rounder, go ahead! :D The CWXI needs you! But we cant all be all-round spectaculars!

So yea, to all all-rounders in the CW, I issue you with an un-official proposal to drop a skill, or at least decrease it somewhat, to make this a more fun, and realistic experience for all :)
