Squads Announced for Game One

Both Bangladesh and Cricket Web have announced their respective squads for the first match of the Tri Nations.

Bangladesh: Nadif Chowdhury (c), Tamim Iqbal, Raqiual Hasan, Shamsur Rahman, Marshall Ayub, Diman Gosh (wk), Suhrawadi Shuvo, Ishraq Sonet, Dolas Mahmud, Rezul Islam, Sirajullah Khadim, Kamrul Islam (12th man TBA)

CricketWeb: Thamba Mamesh (c), Shan Jasotharan, Matt Luff, Matt Pitt, Nick Scott, Stephen Burke (wk), Chris Dwyer, Nick Hancock, Paddy Gundry, Andy Cameron, Kev Goughy, Ryan Dunn (12th man TBA)

There are no major surprises in the Bangladesh with the major talking point surrounding the likely final make up of the starting XI. Will Bangladesh go in with the extra all rounder, or an extra fast bowler?

CricketWeb on the other hand have made some surprise selection with Youth Test heroes Matt Currie, Nitin Dravid and Zac Ritchie all omitted from the starting XI, in preference to some One Specialist. The word around the dressing room also suggest that rookie Blues seamer Ryan Dunn is likely to make his debut, but its yet to be confirmed who out five bowlers that tore South Africa apart during their last One Series will make way for the promising young seamer.

Disappointed not to make the ODI side but my performances for Red haven't really earnt a spot in the shorter form unfortunately, will be looking to play well if I get picked though.

Goughy Rattles Bangladesh

Kev Goughy demoralised the Bangladesh U/19 team with great pace and accuracy as he picked up sensational figures of 6 for 34 from 8.5 overs.
The Bangladesh players couldn't handle Kev Goughy's pace from the outset, where he had Hasan out in the very first over of the match, caught by Thamba Mamesh in the slips courdon. Goughy came back in the 34th over to take 2 victims, after the spin combination of Gundry and Dwyer had strangled Bangladesh, conceeding just 53 runs in 17 overs and Dwyer claimed 3 wickets. Goughy went on to clean out the tail.

In response, the Cricket Web young guns fell over the line, to win by 4 wickets in the 37th over.
Thamba Mamesh and Matt Pitt top scored with 35 a piece, but the CW team never looked in total control of the game, losing wickets at regular intervals.

Fans look forward to the future matches in the one day series, with Sri Lanka playing Cricket Web on the 4th in Khulna.
