    Round 27 - OD - 25 May

    Edfield Seahawks v Pickford Panthers
    in Sanderston Ground

    Scorecard
    Ball By Ball

Edfield pros: Nayak, Clapham, M Smith
    Pickford pros: Roberts, Davis, Su

Su on fire once more, though his returns are steadily declining. The Edfield bowlers just weren't good enough.

Pickford Panthers (9pts) beat Edfield Seahawks (0pts)
Man of the Match: D. J. A. Gokarn (Pickford)

    Gofftown Tigers v Davistow Darters
    in Gofftown Oval

    Scorecard
    Ball By Ball

    Gofftown pros: Griffen
Davistow pros: Hopgood, +Read, Ritchie, Raghav

Good death hitting by number ten and eleven took Gofftown to 199, but without quality bowling it was hopeless. Hopgood was robbed of a hundred.

Davistow Darters (9pts) beat Gofftown Tigers (0pts)
Man of the Match: M. R. Hopgood (Davistow)

Greater Robbham de Grooters v Nixonstown Foxes
    in CW Bar Ground

    Scorecard
    Ball By Ball

    Greater Robbham pros: Amir
    Nixonstown pros: Dravid, Fox, Shah

Despite a 103-run fifth-wicket stand, de Grooters were bowled out for 187 - showing how badly they batted. Yet, Amir took vital wickets, including the final one after a 56-run tenth-wicket partnership.

Greater Robbham de Grooters (8pts) beat Nixonstown Foxes (0pts) by five runs
Man of the Match: A. Buxton (Greater Robbham)

Maddington Frenzy v Garven Island Sharks
    in Bacchanalia Fields

    Scorecard
    Ball By Ball

Maddington pros: McMeekin, Syed, May-Quinlan, Payne. Youth: Malone jnr.
    Garven Island pros: Rose, Pares

A massive bowling effort from Syed left the Frenzy with 168 to win; Pares and Rose shook them to 31 for four, then Shahzad and Bristow took wickets and the Frenzy were 90 for seven. However, their second spell wasn't quite good enough, and amateurs Simpson and Lawrell took the Frenzy across the line.

Maddington Frenzy (8pts) beat Garven Island Sharks (0pts) by one wicket
Man of the Match: A. K. Syed (Maddington Frenzy)

    Stedingham Jets v Campsfield Braves
    in Jets Arena

    Scorecard
    Ball By Ball

    Stedingham pros: +Gaukroger
    Campsfield pros: Gooljar

Gooljar hit 13 vital runs as the Braves got over the line in time. Jacklin was the real star, though, with 76 runs and the wicket of Gaukroger.

Campsfield Braves (8pts) beat Stedingham Jets (0pts) by five wickets
Man of the Match: P. M. Jacklin (Campsfield)

    Twybridge Titans v Fitzworthingham Broncos
    at Riverside

    Scorecard
    Ball By Ball

    Twybridge pros: Das, Donald, Weber
Fitzworthingham pros: Arnold, Hogarth, Speirs, Williams, E McNamara

Twybridge were embarrassingly crushed by Williams, who took five for 16 in a memorable spell. The Titans managed four runs more than bottom-rungers Garven Island in the previous one-dayer; their bowlers did, however, take five wickets.

Fitzworthingham Broncos (11pts) beat Twybridge Titans (0pts) by five wickets
Man of the Match: R. Williams (Fitzworthingham)

    Code:
    Team P	W	L	D	T	BP	Pts

Another solid return for Heathy. Two more wickets and the added bonus of detonating the stumps of an unfortunate batsman.

Pretty happy with my own personal effort in both games, but it would be great for Davistow to string a few more wins together.

I miss out bowling thanks to the nasty sim and when I do get a bowl, three wickets aren't good enough? I might as well retire now, IMO.

Lovely work by the Broncos last two games to get us back on track. And I'm especially delighted with my 5/16 against title challengers Twybridge. Excellent
Now that we've established a mini-lead, let's not throw it away again!
