Grade Cricket Season XII

Mister Wright

Cricket Web: All-Time Legend
Fitzworthingham in fantastic form.

Pretty sure I'm playing in the next OD game, so hopefully I can gain some OD form for myself.

I was waiting for Håk to post the next game before proceeding, although I may have read something wrong.
I misread. I was holding up the show, Håk was waiting for me to sim the OD before he did the 3 Day. He even told me that, gah, my apologies.

I'm getting really sick of not scoring runs TBH. Maybe batting at #4 would help, if that's at all possible?

Campsfield Braves vs Garven Island Sharks
@ PDV Dome
MOTM: AJ Blackman
Hi, I'm Alex Blackman, yet again I dominated the grade attack, scoring 118 off 112 balls, I wasn't at my best, however I did enough.

Davistow Darters vs Maddington Frenzy

@ Heathridge Oval
MOTM: AK Syed
A modest total of 208 proved to be just enough as Davistow failed to capitalise on some solid middle order batting, and ultimately fell short as Syed tore out their heart. Or something like that.

Edfield Seahawks vs Gofftown Tigers
@ Sanderston Ground
MOTM: DK Rai
Rai was gutted after his MOTM performance, and rightfully so, he lost, despite 2/50 and a fine 93. Bharat was at fault according to Rai, her 64 off 116 taking far too long for the Seahawks to capitalise on what was otherwise a fine partnership of 152.

Nixonstown Foxes vs Fitzworthingham Broncos

@ The Incorrect Ground (Bacchanalia instead of that big one, what's it called? CW Oval? yeah, that's the one)
MOTM: PG Gundry & N Dravid
The Broncos fielded 4 specialist openers, 4 of which fell to the spin of Gundry. That's 4 out of 4, or 100%. Well done. This goes to prove that I rate bowling highly, as poor Dravid's 95* off 89 balls went completely unnoticed. An Emphatic 6 wicket win by the Foxes ensures that they get some points.

Pickford Panthers vs Twybridge Titans
@ Pickford Reserve
MOTM: JNE Forner
4/20 is something, said one Panther to another, after they were completely utterly thoroughly, and other such synonyms, demolished by a Rampant Titans outfit. Not one giant outfit, the entire team. Whatever. The Panthers, or should I say Kexing Su, bowled reasonably well to keep the Titans down to 4/219, Su's 4/56 being arguably the highlight of the innings. The less said about the Pickford innings the better, rest assured that their total was 2 less than 100, and 1 more than 97, if you catch my drift.

Stedingham Jets vs Greater Robbham de Grooters

@ Jets Arena
MOTM: T Bochat
Mamesh played a lovely 113 off 132 before attamepting to hoik Amir to score the winning runs. Wrong decision. Regardless the Jets cruised home to an easy win, chasing down 221 in an easy fashion. Gaukroger also scored a gritty 54 to support Mamesh. Amir was the only Robbham bowler to show any impact, with 2/47. Then there was the crowd which cheered on the Jets, they too contributed to the game. Oh yeah, Bochat got 6/37.

Thanks for that Dave.

Disapointing to see the Broncos lose, but we're travelling well.

Whereabouts are we with grade cricket in relation to the Dev league schedule?

Not a bad personal effort there, but I really should have stayed in and made it a Davistow win.

Err, well behind, my fault, 4 game days or thereabouts. Should be back on schedule by Saturday/Sunday.

Quality reports DK, keep up the good work :D

haha, Pooja wants to stay away from me at training for the Colts. 100+ balls to score 64 in an OD? Shocking performance. :D

But nah, pleased with that performance personally. going alright in grade this season. :)

Fitzworthingham Broncos vs Davistow Darters
@ Simmons Park
MOTM: ZR Ritchie
After requesting that he be demoted to 4, Ritchie made his mark with a fine century reminiscent of ZR Ritchie. His patient 109 formed the backbone of the Davistow innings, and they looked like a chance to defend 256. Unfortunately, Fitzworthingham's team effort got them over the line, as they chased the total down in 47.3 overs.

Garven Island Sharks vs Nixonstown Foxes

@ Clowich Stadium
MOTM: Manan Shah
Jamee Gray was instrumental in the run chase, with a cool, calm, collected 70* off just 82 balls, getting the Foxes past the tough total 143. Although at 4/56 the Foxes may have looked in some trouble. Regardless, a brilliant bowling display by Manan Shah was the catalyst in Garven Island's innings, getting 4/10 off 8 overs.

Gofftown Tigers vs Pickford Panthers

@ Gofftown Oval
MOTM: Kexing Su
Cries of "noob" were heard often during Kexing Su's match winnings bowling performance. After setting a paltry total of 192 the Panthers looked down and out, however they managed to contain the Tigers to 187, Su's 3/35 off 10 being in stark contrast to team-mate Gough's 2/62. Of course, Courtis, the top scorer of the game, didn't help matters by playing like a noob, 76 off 151 balls letting his team down as they ultimately fell 5 runs short. Nash unlucky to have his 4/37 unrecognised, but he should've been a dev league player.

Maddington Frenzy vs Stedingham Jets

@ Bacchanalia Fields
MOTM: JE Stedman
The Jets continued on their run on form with a solid victory over the powerful Maddington side, Stedman's 116 providing the heart of the chase for the Jets, after the Frenzy posted a competitive 239. Stedman also impressed with the ball, 2/29 helping to keep the Frenzy in check with the scalps of both openers. Gaukroger provided able support to Stedman with a fine 49.

Greater Robbham de Grooters vs Edfield Seahawks
@ CW Bar Ground
MOTM: A Herbert
Despite the stupidity of the sim, Edfield still won. Matt Smith, despite being a superior bowler, was not bowled. So, that's just stupid. Still, Edfield bowled well and flattened a laclustre Robbham bowling attack to win by 9 wickets. Stupid sim.

Twybridge Titans vs Campsfield Braves
@ Riverside
MOTM: AS Das
Blackman scored another ton
Bowling to him is no fun
You'll have to pray the sky gets wetter
Or that you can bat much better
Else Campsfield win another one
Twybridge took the latter, or, to be more precise, Das and Donald did. 2 centuries are greater than 1, even if it is a Blackman special.
