Nobody 'drops out' of the CW XI, but some people are deemed inactive. That is only after some prolonged absence though and 2 or 3 per season are put to rest. In the last couple of seasons more than 10 have signed up on each occasion, forcing and expansion from 2 CW teams to 4.

Hmmm... not the smartest way to treat your captain. Marc meant that this season you haven't had enough bowling to be called a specialist bowler. You're like in for consideration with half the Reds attack due to be away on Test duty though.

Still, it appears that usually when we name sides they can be changed on a whim, so it does make me wonder what is the point of naming a captain.

Yes Marc he is. Every member of the Reds squad is in contention for a spot in the XI.

It appears that you have no concept of what your powers are. Michael Vaughan does not choose his XI. He has input in the selection and works alongside Duncan Fletcher to do so. You are not the almighty of the Reds team Marc. Your wish is not my or anyone else's command.

At no point did I say that I would place Nibblet in the team against my will and yet you continue your little fit, spread over 3 threads now. So mature.

Because he's a damn good bowler... he has some of the best stats of any bowler in CWLand IIRC!

It would be a shame if someone wasn't even in considered for a spot in a team at all. I figure that every member of a team should be considered each match. That doesn't mean you have to consider them for long, but yeah. I'd hate to be in a team where I wasn't even considered at all.
