There really is no infighting.Just a few disagreements. This season looks to be very promising for us guys.Let's defend our 25Smash crown and add the FC andOD titles too.

Back to business, I think we have ourselves well covered this season. Going purely by statistics, we're hot favourites to win the OD and 25Smash, our biggest threats in those areas will be the Reds team. If I take the average average of the top eight batsmen and the same for the top eight bowlers, and then find the difference between the two, we lead with a 15.36 difference, and Reds are last on 10.6 with Black & Blue on around 11/12 area - but if you take it to top six, you end up with us having a huge 20.51 difference to Red's 16.77, both ahead of the 14/15 area of B&B.

In 4D, it will be a little more interesting. We have Craig and bugs as well as our two rookies in to bolster our batting after the loss of Cloete. Our bowling is in my opinion unquestionably the most dangerous looking attack at the moment (again, based on stats) as while we even out (on both top 6 and top 8) with Black, they have four rookies to our two, and that allows for a much better levelling of new talent with proven talent. I'm sure the two new guy will to well, too... they both show good fight off the field and I'm confident they'll show that same fight when facing the music. Blue's batting may be strong, but it's very notable that they don't have a single bowler with an average under 27 - well... they did, but Timewell and Bryce are wearing Green now! :D Mwahaha.

As far as I can see, using both top six and top eight, all the squads are fairly evenly balanced in the OD bowling department. I'm trusting it'll be our depth and aggressive nature that we've shown so many times in the past that will push us through easily. Our OD batting is easily the superior batting lineup in season 8 - our top six average 42.66 each between them!

It will be interesting to see Bryce and Weber perform and I trust everyone in the team will do their best to teach them the tricks of the trade while we're in training and also that everyone who has returned from last season will help each other as well to improve their batting, bowling, keeping and fielding. As we all know, you're never too old to learn from those around you and there's always room for improvement!

When the CWXI is playing, we'll likely lose a lot of people, but so will the opposition. There was a stage that we would effectively have no seamers, however the aquisition of Bryce and Rob has solved this issue, and we now have four highly effective fast and fast-medium bowlers (as we have Hoy and Rose as well). We also have a lovely spin attack for our wicket which is apparently very spinner friendly, so don't think you'll be missing out. Reuben, Gooljar, Weber, Feeney, Majin all bowl well in both forms of the game. We have an arsenal to back them up, too. Notably with a nice eco rate in 25Smash last season was Biased Indian, who also opens nicely. We have wicket keepers in Lezama who suits the OD/25Smash game and Jamee who suits the 4D. Everyone has the opportunity to learn from someone else in their team and I'm really looking forward to it, especially continuing to learn from the highly regarded batsmen who I hope to share the order with.

My only real worry is... with all this talent... I'm going to find it hard to find a place in the starting team. :D It's good to be amongst exemplaries and prodigies!

I think it's superb that Blue appears largely the biggest threat. We certainly seem to be talked up as the team to beat.

Quiet confidence.

Every opposition in the competition deserves a lot of respect, there's no doubt we'll need to put in hard work for every win, for wins are earned. :)

Alright guys - we have a couple of OD's coming up and I expect one to be on a spinner friendly surface and one to suit the seamers. Players we need to see feature in at least one match each include Gooljar, Reuben, Weber, Bryce and Timewell. Oh, and me, please. :p It'll also be worth looking into the order of the batting lineup, as we have quite a lot of people who are suited to the shorter version of the game. Blewy, bugs, do you guys like to open at all?

Lezama, at least in the warm up games, will be keeping in OD's. Was a pleasure working with Jamee in the longer game, though, very vocal and great spirit! I'm glad we have two keepers who are both suited to certain versions of the games. :D But yeah, any reccomendations would be great. I have a couple of lineups in mind but choosing the bowlers for each wicket is proving a right headache. :p

Nice work there Dan, and interesting insight into the statistical look of the team (i still found it interesting even after being told them days ago over MSN  ). Although team selection may give you headaches, it is great to see so much compertition for places.

Can't wait for the season to start!

Meadia Release from Brendon Goff

After all the recent speculation and uncertainty in the CW Green team i would like to declare my loyalty to the Green squad for the coming season.

Times have no doubt been tough over the past week or so and especially for myself losing a good mate to a rival team. Although i was not 100% in agreeance with the release of a quality player like Cloete i accept that the team will benefit out of it. I call on all Green members to band together and work as ONE to build this side into a team which is feared on and off the pitch.

The quality of the squad is undoubted and if we band together to work as one we should not have any problems providing results on the pitch.
I hope to be a senior influence in this development and work with the captain Agemaster and other senior members to lead the way to the future.
I give my support to the skipper and him the knowledge that i am here to help whenever needed.

So to my fellow Greenies band together and show the rest of the world that we are one, and we will work together to defeat all...

Breaking News
Daniel Towns woke up at 4:30am, went online and straight to the CW XI Dev League to read the media release that the CW XI Captain was said to release, put on a very tired but happy smile and went straight back to bed. :p

Great to have everyone in Green back to strong points. Blewy, I'd love it if you could email me with any advice at all you can think of for OD tactics as I would imagine you would have invaluable knowledge of how things work in this game. I would have asked you about the last 5D game but I was on too short notice (Liam messaged me saying he was about to live sim the game so I had to go straight to it).

As for opening, I plan to give Blewy and bugs a shot up top in one game and Craig and another player, quite possibly myself or maybe Waughney in the other game. Still having a little trouble finding the right balance to the sides, but right now I'm considering...

Spin Wicket: Blewy, bugssy, Craig, Lezama, Towns, Garven, Majin (1), Weber (2), Gooljar (3), Hoy (4), Timewell (5) and bugs, Towns and Blewy to be able to put in a few overs if needed. Having three spinners in a team is a lot, but we have to try to see as much as possible of our spinners in the right conditions. I'd have given Reuben a look on this wicket too, but I ended up deciding my lineups would be more to look into the arts of the newer spinners that I haven't seen as much of. Reuben makes the seamer side and will hopefully find turn there, the same goes with Waughney.
Seam Wicket: Craig, Towns, bugssy, Blewy, Garven, Waughney, Lezama, Bryce (1), Verghese (2), Rose (3), Timewell (4) and the remaining overs being made up of the bowling of bugs, Towns and Waughney.

Players who would miss out: Jamee and Sajith, both of who I see as 5D specialists - however if anyone disagrees let me know. These are warm up games after all.

It's a shame we can't have more OD's to get a more balanced view of our many bowlers, but if anyone has ideas I'd love to hear them.

You green's all better watch out, you don't know the other side of Town's man, he might appear an amiable friendly guy, but trust me, coming from someone who's known him for years and works for him at his forums, let me tell you this. THE MAN IS A DESPOTIC EVIL DISPICABLE TYRANT OF A DICTATOR, IF YOU MESS UP YOU'LL FIND YOUR SPINNING FINGERS CHOPPED OFF!

Ahem. :x Anyway, what do the numbers by the bowlers mean in those lineups?

And I'm glad you've decided to stay, Blewy. =D If not for your mad batting skills, to look at your avatar. 0:} But it is for your mad batting skills. ;o

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this season.

Edit: Oh yeah, can we have a list of Forum names > Real names for our team, 'cause I'm still slightly confused as to who is who. :}

hmmm a bit disappointed to not get a run on the more seam friendly wicket....will have to toil hard on our crappy wicket :p.

Great to see your back.

P.S. That is to list who is a bowler...i'd assume its just so the captain can cover the overs...
