Dave Watt burst on to the Dev League scene with style - snaring 12 wickets in his first two games. But the people of CW were yet to see the best of 'Watta'. In just his second season, Dave picked up an incredible 74 FC wickets, with 36 OD wickets to boot. Dave's form continued, and saw him picked for the CW XI ODI team. He held a regular spot in the ODI bowling attack, up until his controversial decision to withdraw from the squad just prior to the World Cup. Many believe that Dave's ability to consistently swing the ball both ways, combined with both the angle and pace with which he bowls, is what will lead him to bigger and better things. He is currently captain of CW Red, in his bid to lead them to Season X glory.

Haakon Moerk's batting technique is much like a rock - solid, water tight. Unfortunately, however, it is marginally less entertaining. Indeed, Haakon will be most fondly remembered for his unbeaten 143 for the CW XI against South Africa - a total which took him no less than 517 balls and 574 minutes to reach - in just his 2nd test. He is one of the best players of the new ball in the Dev League - in the longer form of the game at least - and has shown glimpses of being an able pinch-hitter in one dayers. Despite being a formidable batsman in his own right, in his artillery one will also find keeping. Like his batting, it's easily described with one word - dogged. After a stellar season 8, Haakon hasn't quite reached the level that many believe he's capable of, yet CWLand will have to wait and see if his determination and natural talent can carry him there. His popularity, however, has flourished in the past few seasons, and is well liked across the Dev League for his kind demeanour, chiseled abs and boyish good looks.
JR Gray

Jamee Gray is well known in CWLand - however, very few are aware of what this quasi batsman/keeper has acheived over his career. An underrated batsman and keeper, Jamee has accumulated over 3000 first-class runs, along with 1000 one-day runs, both at an average in the mid-20s. He is best described as "jack of all trades, master of none". He has been in and out of the CW Red side - second choice keeper to Haakon Moerk, unable to make the side as a specialist batsman. Many, however, believe that what Gray lacks in natural talent, he makes up for in both enthusiasm and genuine love of cricket, and that perhaps with a constant spot in a starting XI, he would then be able to make a mark on the Development League.
T Mamesh

Thamba Mamesh has cut, pulled, driven and reverse swept his way into every television set and heart alike in CWLand. In just one season, his exciting, hard-hitting batting has earnt him a place in the CW XI, helped greatly his impressive showing on the 'A' tour in the Caribbean. Initially a CW Colt, he shone in Season 9, averaging mid to high thirties and scoring over 1000 runs in first-class cricket. It was his love for his cousin (underrated CW Red offspinner, Tharmilan Logathanan), Haakon Moerk's boyish good looks and the desire shared by everyone to edge Jamee Gray slightly more out of a job that saw him transfer to CW Red in what was the biggest news of the Season X pre-season. His ability to score quickly (and in great quantity), combined with his ability to do all this whilst opening the batting, is what has catapulted this infinitely talented youngster from oblivion to stardom. His keeping, along with his one day batting, is somewhat untested, but many believe it will be used extensively by Red captain Dave Watt in Season X.
AL Feeney

Alex Feeney has quietly accumulated one of the most impressive one-day records in the entire Development League. He has amassed over 2000 runs at an average just shy of 50. Indeed, he has been in the top echelon of one-day batsmen for some time recently, yet has done so without the glamour of someone like Andrew Cloete, or Brendon Goff. His first-class record isn't quite as impressive, but is still solid, with over 3000 runs at an average pressing 30. Very, very few can honestly claim to have heard him speak, yet CW Red captain Dave Watt "swears" that he has. His low-key move to CW Red over the off season didn't receive the attention that it should've - much like his batting - and critics predict that his career will only continue to flourish with the opportunities available at Red.

Kenny Dobson. Professional cricketer. One-time uni student. *** icon. Burger flipper at McDonalds. There are very few things that Guthrie Ken Kuratomi Dobson isn't willing to try, and even fewer that he fails to excel at. During his time at CW Red, he has gone quietly about his batting. Not receiving the attention of your Markus' or your Moerk's, Kenny has scored most of his 2000 first class and 1000 one day runs through his vast array of classy offside strokes. His drives, cuts and lusty blows over mid off have seen him secure a constant spot in the Red starting XI. Despite preferring the off side, he is still an able executioner of the pull shot, and readily punishes short bowling. He dabbles in keeping, yet is said to be focused heavily on improving his batting. A dazzling young talent, it remains to be seen whether he can summon the work ethic which will see him develop into a player worthy of the CW XI - which many believe he is capable of. However, in his road to greatness lies two obstacles - his love for the women, and his love for the rice. His bubbly charisma, smooth talking and chiseled features make him a welcome addition to any crowd of screaming, half naked females, and it's unsure whether he is willing to leave his partying ways behind for cricket. One man who has great faith in Kenny is captain Dave Watt, who is one of many who believe that Kenny will achieve his full potential.
I Markus

Ian Markus, or 'Fatty', as he's called, is likened to a right-handed Darren Lehmann. Somewhat large, classy stroke player, the ability to strike them cleanly and some deceptive finger spinners. Recently been touted as 'Mr Cricket' for his purple patch leading into Season X, Ian has always been regarded as one of the best one-day batsman in the Dev League, but only recently has he bettered that and claimed the title of being the best of them all. His role as an opener in the Champions Trophy was executed in lethal fashion, and in 3 games into Season X, he has hit over 300 runs, including two scores of over 150. However, very little is said of his first-class game. And why is that, when he averages over 30 with the bat and 27 with the ball? Who knows, but CW Red fans have earmarked Season X as the time when Ian steps up and establishes himself as potent first-class player. His regular diet of pies, beer and small children was seen as a real problem, but by his own initiative, Ian has cut down and now eats only water and air.
NA Borcich

Nick Borcich. Inadequate. The two go hand in hand, but all jokes aside (not that they don't), very few have shared the same success as the young Nico Borcic. His two seasons with CW Red have been productive ones - in first class, he's managed 104 wickets at an average of 25, but most impressively managing to concede under 2.4 runs per over. Yet he is also working desperately to establish himself in the one day arena - though has so far not had the same success as in first class - only managing 44 wickets at 33 runs a piece. His batting is also solid, though goes out far too cheaply by slashing away outside off. In the Nathan Hoy mould, Borcich's ability to bowl a consistent line of length and keep the runs down is what gets him wickets. A bit of batting, a bit more fielding, and a lot more bowling. Though he still requires one more piece to complete the puzzle... Adequacy.
