**Dev League Season 6**

Well boys and girls. It's time for another season of the Cricket Web Development League. It's been a very productive offseason, with the signing of some twelve new plays. Consequently there have been some major changes in the format and infrastructure of the Dev League.

Please note the following changes:

1. There are no longer two divisions. Instead there is one division in which ten teams will compete. The teams competing this season will be Australia A, England A, India A, South Africa A, New Zealand A, Zimbabwe XI, Veterans XI, CW Red, CW Blue, CW Green.

---

2. There will no longer be a Cricket Web 'B' team in competition. Instead players have been dispersed to the teams Cricket Web Red, Cricket Web Blue and Cricket Web Green. These teams will compete in the Dev League as usual, and a selected 16-man squad from these players will tour abroad as the Cricket Web 'A' team during the offseason. Note that no team is considered higher rated than any other and all players have equal chance of selection regardless of what colour team they play for.

Assignments are as follows:

**Cricket Web Red**
Marc71178 (C)
Imran Khan Jr. (vc)
Eyes Only (wk)
Ryan (wk)
Deeps
Ian Markus
Bugssy
Craig
Jagaways
R_Powell_fan
Pratyush Agarwal
Vishnu Reddy
Yaju Arya
Mr Wright
Mr Ponting

**Cricket Web Blue**
Langeveldt (C)
Andre (vc) - yes, he has come out retirement to play Dev League cricket this season
Samuel Vimes (wk)
Dylan Jellett (wk)
StUEy
Jamee999
C Buts
Nikhil Nichani
Patrick Fisher
Nibblet
Sunil Havascar
David Kennett
David Jr.
Tom Halsey
Chris Broadbent

**Cricket Web Green**
Age Master (C)
Umpire Money (vc)
Ash Chaulk (wk)
Adil Dewan (wk)
Krkode
Paid the Umpire
Gibbs N Smith
Mr Mxyzptlk
Master Blaster
Sanz
SquidAU
Don Ricardo
Chris Hinton
Ferd

When the CW XI members aren't touring, they take a place in the Dev League. As such, the international players are be affiliated as such:

Blewy - Red
Broncoman - Blue
Rik - Green
Cloete - Red
Lord of Darkness - Blue
Eclipse - Green
Neil Pickup - Red
Peter Young - Blue
Rich_2001 - Green

---

3. Due to change in format, the season has been expanded to 18 five-day games and 18 one-day games per team. That's a total of 36 games in the season. Five matchups will be simmed per day, meaning that players will be active every day and relevant results will be posted daily. At the end of the regular season, the top four teams in 5D and OD meet in the semi-final stage, then the final two teams play a best of three series for the trophy. Still no names for the trophies though... suggestions anyone?

----------------------

The season schedule is attached at the bottom and, as you'll soon see, the season kicks off the coming Saturday. Any questions about the format etc., please email me (Liam) or Reuben at bugs @ tstt . net . tt, or add me on MSN (sportzfreak3 at hotmail.com).

What a top team. I'm so happy to be part of the team with the Reds. We look an impressive outfit with lots of class even without Blewy and Cloete. I think we will dominate under Marc our leader and if everyone pitches in it will be a top season. Bravo Mxytplxyz things look really good.

Glad to be part of the Reds this season, looking to add more consistency to my season and I'm sure being a part of Marc's side will help me do this.

:-O captain of the green machine :) im honoured, though we look to have a tough run ahead of us.... the red team led by Marc looks like it will be tough to beat, especially with that many Aussies in his team ;)

A couple of oversights, now corrected...

Dave - CW Red (not sure how I overlooked you...)

The last couple of signups are traditionally, yet accidentally overlooked. :)
Fear not, you two will be playing this season:

Bhooth Nath - CW Blue
Jason Toogood - CW Green

I'm glad to see so many people are expressing their delight at joining my team - I hope we can be very successful and the incentive scheme provided by the CW Bar (I have opened a special room with comfy seating and specialist Lagers only available to Team Red) will spur us onto victory!
