Sreesanth said, "Next ball he was beaten and I said, 'is this the King Charles Lara? Who is this impostor, moving around nervously? I should have kept my mouth shut for the next ball - mind you, it was a length ball - Lara just pulled it over the church beyond the boundary! He is a true legend."

    **DIV 1**

    Cricket Web 'A' 304 & 341/6d
    England 'A' 195 & 177

Cricket Web 'A' won by 273 runs

    Man of the match: Craig

    Coach's Comments:
Brilliant batting from the top and middle order. Craig was amazing on his CW 'A' debut. He looks a true talent for the future. All the bowlers looked good, but Mr Wright was the undoubted star. Great captaincy and a brilliant win!

    ---

    India A 207 & 200
    Veterans XI 256 & 152/3

Veterans XI won by 7 wickets

Man of the match: Saeed Anwar

    ---

    Cricket Web 'B' 292 & 278
    New Zealand 'A' 362 & 100/1

Cricket Web 'B' draw with New Zealand 'A'

Man of the match: PG Fulton

    Coach's Comments:
The bowling was very disappointing. The debut leggies were fair on debut, but eventually the batsman took hold and started to play shots... especially v Pratyush. Good innings from captain Langeveldt and some entertainment from Ian Markus and Deeps. Well-bowled by Patrick Fisher. There are improvements to be made...

Well played team - I'm pleased to have continued my extremely consistent form into the new season - just wish I could convert my starts.
marc71178 - President and founding member of AAAS - we don't only appreciate when he does well, but also when he's not quite so good!

    CRICKET WEB 'A' 221/6 44.0 overs

Cricket Web 'A' won by 4 wickets

    Man of the match: Bugssy

    Coach's Comments:
Brilliant allround performance from Bugssy stole the show. Sharp bowling from Chris Hinton and Mr Wright as well as good showings by Imran Khan Jr. and Gibbs N Smith. Impressive win no. 2.

    ---

    VETERANS XI 227 49.0 overs
    AUSTRALIA 'A' 220/7 50.0 overs

Veterans XI won by 7 runs

    CRICKET WEB 'B' 174/3 34.3 overs

Cricket Web 'B' won by 7 wickets

Man of the match: Nikhil Nichani

    Coach's Comments:
Wonderful allround stuff from Nichani! The spinners restricted Klusener as he struggled to time the ball in playing the only significant innings for SA. A very impressive effort from Patrick Fisher as well and some lusty innings from Deeps and Buts to rush the close.
