Divisional 5D Playoffs
**DIV 1**
India A 364 & 188 Veterans XI 400 & 154/3 Veterans XI won by 7 wickets Man of the match: PA DeSilva ------------------------------------- **DIV 2** Australia 'A' 426 & 191 Cricket Web 'B' 339 & 276 Australia 'A' won by 2 runs Man of the match: Yaju Arya Coach's Comments: So close... so close... Superb effort by all involved. Fought back from 244/3 to 426 all out with some spirited bowling and sharp fielding. Then the lower order batted brilliantly after a big top order collapse. Another fine effort from Imran Khan Jr. Still, with a 97-run deficit, much work was required and some inspiration. David Jr. gave the early inspiration and Yaju continues his superhuman run of form with another fantastic haul. Lost wickets at crucial times in a tough but certainly feasible run chase. Next time... |

Moral silver medalists - us (Vets were thrashed by Aussies, we nearly managed to win)
*goes and hides in closet after abysmal batting performance under pressure*

OD Divisional Playoffs
**DIV 1**
INDIA A 199 47.1 overs CRICKET WEB 'A' 202/9 49.3 overs Cricket Web 'A' won by 1 wickets Man of the match: David Kennett Coach's Comments: Almost a massively disappointing result after some tremendous bowling. Well batted by David however to keep the hope alive and ultimately win the game for the CW 'A' team. -------------------------------------- **DIV 2** ENGLAND 'A' 191 44.3 overs CRICKET WEB 'B' 194/5 38.5 overs Cricket Web 'B' won by 5 wickets Man of the match: Imran Khan(jr) Coach's Comments: Lovely bowling and a well paced batting effort. David Jr., Imran Jr. and Craig were all superb with Samuel Vimes finishing the game off in style to set up an all CW OD final! |

OD Final
CRICKET WEB 'B' 209 39.5 overs
CRICKET WEB 'A' 209 47.4 overs Cricket Web 'B' tie with Cricket Web 'A' Man of the match: David(jr) What a game! Sensational throughout and a fitting finish to a young rivalry which will no doubt blossom in Season 5. There are two options from here... 1/ The game may be replayed to get a winner. 2/ The title may be shared. Thoughts? |
