Liam, can I suggest you put Mr Ponting up the order to open for a game:

1. It's a dodgy place to fill.
2. It'd shut him up for a few days.
3. We could all have a huge laugh at him when he fails, and can then put him back in his rightful place!

I considered putting him to open, but I thought better of it. Who knows, I may end up slotting him in...

August 31st Results

MINNOWS XI 199 48.2 overs
AUSTRALIA 'A' 201/7 46.2 overs

Australia 'A' won by 3 wickets

Man of the match: Nathan Hauritz

Australia struggle uncharacteristically against some purposeful bowling. Amazingly, John Davison only bowled 1 over!!
-------------------
WEST INDIES 'A' 155 43.3 overs
CRICKETWEB XI DEVS 157/3 28.0 overs

Cricketweb XI Devs won by 7 wickets

Man of the match: Mr Ponting

Coach's comments:
Six in a row! Mr Ponting bowled superbly after Umpire Money elected to field first. He exploited the conditions beautifully and got the ball to swing and seam. Neil finally got some success in the OD format with tidy figures. After the WI A innings, it was time for the regular CW Dev partnership to shine again - 4 sixes in Marc's brutal innings (including one off Hurley to win the game) and Bugssy provided solid support at the other end. All in all, another impressive win as we've all but secured the OD trophy.

We won all our matches in that round and the batting and bowling is starting to get much more consistent. We need to sort some things out in the bowling department still, but we're getting to where we want to be.

VERY happy at my bowling there. Also with my batting. Seeing as I was out to slog, I did ok. And 18 isn't bad. Plus, I beat broncoman and eyes.:D

Those averages say something don't they mr. mxy? 4d i average 37 with the BAT :D and 27 with the ball.:) And in OD i average 15 with the and have taken the most wickets. in 4d i have second most. also in OD i am the only player to have taken 5 wickets. now thats good reading!

Your FC average is more due to the 5 not outs than the volume of runs though.

I'm very pleased with my efforts this season, and may be an outside bet for a Test spot if I keep the consistency?

Also, bowling wise I've impressed with the accuracy that is the best for those who have bowled at least 50 overs :)

Not as brilliant in one dayers, but still overall top run scorer - what is the most in the Dev league Liam?
