Rookie Signings

It's about that time when the rookies get involved. Teams are close to signing their minimum quota, and once that is sorted, we move on to the rookie signings.

This will take place with a basic draft system.

The draft order:
1) Colts
2) Green
3) Red
4) Blue
5) Black

This order is determined by the combined finish of clubs over the past two seasons.

I don't think I need to explain how a draft system works, but I will anyway.

1. The first club has first option on the rookie player pool. The club may discuss terms with the player and post a contract offer in the official thread. The player must then confirm the signing in the official thread. Players have the right to reject contract offers with any club, ensuring that he remains available to be signed by another team later in the draft.

2. The second club has first option on the remaining players.

Etc. etc.

Note that all rookies are free signings, so they do not factor into salary cap considerations.

Clubs may start talking to rookies, but no contract offers may be made until the CWBCC commences the draft. The draft will commence soon after the 15-player quotas are met.

Season XII Rookies:
RT Pickett (RHB/lower order, RF)
Bat - 18
Bat SR - 50
Bowl - 26
Econ - 3
Field - 18

Just to clarify... how many players can Colts pick before Green have their pick(s)? Do we complete our squad up to 18 players before any other club has the option to sign, or do we pick a certain number of players before the next club has a choice and we move behind X clubs in the pickings, or do we just pick one player and then move down to the end of the picking order?

One player per team per round.

And just to confirm also.

If a player is offered a contract and turns it down, do the club get another go?

Yes. A draft round is not complete until each club signs a player.

So does that mean if the first 4 players are taken in the draft, then the 5th team must select the 5th player?

The color of immortality, nature and envy - you are truly a unique person. While clearly the color of nature, you also symbolize rebirth, fertility and hope in the world. On the other side of the spectrum, a natural aptitude to money with green coming to signify money and possibly even *********!

That won't apply until the second round of drafting, as there are 10 rookies in the draft at present.

This is actually the most impressive batch of rookies to date, because I didn't have to do any adjustments on them aside from economy rate. The signup stats were realistic enough to allow them to meet all criteria and pass into the system unaltered. Well done to all the rookies.

Not quite. Manan Shah put down 21 as his average and Hakon had to adjust it to 26 to make it realistic.

(That's right Manan, I haven't forgotten about you )

Standard adjustment though.

I see. Just noticed that many rookies have a 26 average. I'm assuming they were all going for unrealistically low numbers.

One feels BS Read will be a wanted man, atleast we have more fast bowlers coming through.

I noticed a few guys confirmed their sign ups in the Introduction thread, but aren't in the rookies list. Also out of interest did Read get classified as a keeper or is he just a specialist fielder?
