Cricket Web Blue would like to offer a contract to James May-Quinlan.
There are only a limited number of rookies. We need to ensure that every team has at least 17 players, thus we need to restrict the signing of rookies until that is met.haha, denied a pick for staying within the rules and being organised.
Equal squad size makes sense, but why penalise a team for staying within the rules. The teams with less players can make them up at the end of the draft. The salary cap mentioned a min of 15 players were required to be signed for 60 or below points.Equal squad size is one rule we've had pretty much all the time, so that should come as no surprise.
But there are a limited number of rookies. They may all be gone by the time a team goes to make up their 17. It makes much more sense to get the teams at the minimum before allowing expansion beyond 17. As rookies can be signed for free, a team could theoretically sign them all. The intention is that all squads have at least 17 players before we allow that to occur.Equal squad size makes sense, but why penalise a team for staying within the rules. Whether it was their fault or not, it was a rule that they had to have a minimum of 15 within the salary cap. How many players did they pursue to try and meet their minimum numbers, how did they recruit to make sure this situation would be avoided? Also, it's not CW Green's fault that players went inactive. And that's the reason that they didn't meet their 15.
There were also a limited number of players in the contract period. The fact that a team could not approach a player until that player turned down a contract with his incumbent club meant that there were no players on the open market. A club could only approach certain players within the rules. IIRC, only a couple of players made themselves open to talks with other clubs.Whether it was their fault or not, it was a rule that they had to have a minimum of 15 within the salary cap. Your captain sees the logic in it. It's about fairness. It's not an anti-Black agenda.Either a rule is a rule or it isnt. At the moment the whole new system is a joke as certain rules can be dropped and then the teams given an advantage due to their failings.
You're assuming players were free to sign, which they clearly weren't: each team had first option on the players they had contracted last season, and went for them, with only a couple of players released on free transfers, so it was essentially impossible for Green to fill their target. "Professional recruiting" carries its own advantages: Black and Colts get to sign most of the more experienced players they "professionally recruited" last season (while ensuring that no squad ends up with 11 centrally contracted players to have a somewhat level playing field), Green get to gamble on sixth- and eighth-choice rookies, who rarely set the world alight in their first season.Whether it was their fault or not, it was a rule that they had to have a minimum of 15 within the salary cap. Im not necessarily implying it is. What it is is a poorly implemented system where the rules are not being followed and failure to meet the rules is punished with advantages over those that did. It's not an anti-Black agenda.
The new system is being followed. That's why Green could only sign 11 players...Im not necessarily implying it is. What it is is a poorly implemented system where the rules are not being followed and failure to meet the rules is punished with advantages over those that did.
If the new system isnt being followed then go back to the old
Thanks for the offer. I accept.
@Towns: I don't know if you received my last email, but I did reply to your original one.
Give it a rest.haha, denied a pick for staying within the rules and being organised.
What new rules are these - the equal squad size has always been a rule.New rules are being brought in an being applied retroactively and its a punishment for getting everything done properly compared to other teams.
Marc has a point. If we go with Gough's idea then Green would be in breach of that rule as well about squad size. At the end of last season, the Green squad was pretty much set but somehow in this offseason during organization people went missing. Certainly you can't penalise a team for circumstances outside of their control. What new rules are these - the equal squad size has always been a rule.
You team is sunk tbh.CW Colts would like to offer a place in the squad to Manan Shah.
I accept.CW Colts would like to offer a place in the squad to Manan Shah. We also await contact from another player.
