Another new sign-up:

Forum Name: pasag
Name: Zac E. Gelman
RHB, RFM
Batting average: 28.9
Bowling average: 27.4
Batting SR: 40
Bowling economy: 4.00
Fielding: 15

From Mr Gelman onwards, a draft method will be used to assign the rookies. The order is as follows:

1st Green
2nd Blue
3rd Colts
4th Red
5th Black

Captains or team management may decline to offer a contract to players, but are urged to do so ASAP. Other teams lower in the drafting order may also declare their interest. The player will be contracted to the highest team in the order who wants the player, if this does not cause an imbalance in squad size. Retirement, injuries or call-ups may affect this drafting order, as the CWBCC strives to keep squad sizes equal.

Was the idea of the captains all saying what they needed most and the player going to the side with that vacancy scrapped then?

Well, this is sort of it. There is a selected order, but captains can decide what they need and don't need, and reject players if they don't need that player type.

I think that means that whoever is next in line for a player gets the first opportunity to sign whoever signs up next, however if they aren't interested in that sort of player then they can 'pass it on' to the next team in line and wait for the next player to sign up in the hope that it will be a player that they might find more useful. Is that right?
