CW Bar Season 10 End of Season Charity Matches

CW Bar Season 10 Charity Matches

The charity games for season 10 will begin, as always, with a charity series involving all those who have signed up. This time around, the squads will be captained by Fuller, Wilson, Bennett and Cunningham. A priority of the charity series has always been to nurture talents, and hopefully not only will the captains gain from the opportunity to lead players outside of the normal Dev League sides, but also that the players who have not had as much of a chance to shine throughout the regular season will be given more games to show the rest of the league what they've got - and, above all, to have some good fun and make fun of each other.

The OD series will consist of four squads and all sides will have a game against each other, with the teams who win most games playing against each other in a final. Should there be any tie for a position in the final, the team which hit the most sixes during their three games will go through.

Next up, Neil Pickup will once again lead the Bowling XI side against CWXI captain Brendon Goff's Batting XI side, with Blewy hoping to regain pride for the batsmen after they suffered defeat last season when he was not involved in the game.

Following the OD's, we will have the first ever match between the CW Bar XI and the Testing Forum XI, and the next game will see the CW Bar XI face up against the CW Uncapped XI, giving the best uncapped CW Dev League players working together against Robbins, Chef de Groot and what is said to be a new-look CW Bar lineup.

Finally, Neil and Age and their respective 5D Batting & Bowling XI sides will battle it out in the longer version of the game. Last season was the third time this game had featured, with Weber (who does not feature this time around) taking 4-42 and making 176 unbeaten runs - including the first ever century in the now-traditional final game of the season.

Notes for Captains:
Name your lineups in this thread. Feel free to email any tactics to Liam, or if you want, post them in this thread. Any lineups used in this thread are either alphabetical or estimated, so you can change them as you see fit. Any 12th/13th men shown should only be used in the case of injury.

For those captaining in the OD series: All players should play at least one game, and you should concentrate on giving those who have not played many games this season more opportunities than those who have played regularly for their side. Name your sides in this thread, and remember, this won't affect stats in any way so feel free to use bowlers opening the batting or anything else you might like. Make it interesting for us!.

Fuller Givin' XI for the first game.

JE Stedman
A Blackman
NG Scott
SE Fuller (c)
MJ Robbins
SJ Burke (k)
BL Wilshire
TV Weber
XPA Rose
HG Warwick
GM Thomas

Rose and Thomas to open the bowling, then Warwick. Weber, Fuller and Robbins to make up the other 20 overs.

Looking to have everyone play at least two games, and get a chance to bat up the order and bowl.

It's customary to give the lesser batsmen a run in the top order.
