*Official* Season 9 Discussions Thread
For the first time in Dev League history, the Trophy finals will have a set home. This season, the Manual Ramprakash Challenge Trophy and the Chef de Groot Trophy finals will be played at the Cricket Web Oval.
As perhaps the most relevant of grounds in CWLand, the move should establish a measure of tradition in the system. The Season 9 schedule has been attached for viewing pleasure and scrutiny. Please point out any errors in the schedule so that they may be corrected well in advance of gameplay. Lineups Captains (or a designated official) will be required to post the XII for their respective teams heading into each game. If a team may not be named, the same XI from the last game will be assumed. I ask for a 12th and 13th man to be named so that, if a team is not able to be posted and a player is injured, the 12th or 13th man comes in by default. The 12th man should be a batting/allround player and the 13th a bowling/allround player. Substitutions In the case of excessive callups/injury, the following players are available to join clubs: *Batsmen* A Maddocks IH Jan *Bowlers* JE Sanders C Taylor *Wicketkeepers* WK Hegg CM Gazzard

Colts home ground is Hobart? Bellrieve Oval is it?
What are the various pitches likely to be like this season? Might be nice to familiarise the new people with them.

Dev League Season 9 Grounds
The PDV Dome will be as quick as ever and shouldn't offer much for the spinners. The pitch should hold together nicely through the first 4 days or so. Typically a quick-scoring ground.
The CW Oval will offer something for the seamers, regardless of pace and the spinners will come into player later into the match. It's perhaps the most balanced cricket wicket in the league. The CWBCC Stadium is tailor-made for spinners. It should also allow for lots of runs, being possibly the flattest track in the league with regards to seam movement and easy in pace. The SCG should give the spinners some joy but also has a little for the seamers. Batsmen should score runs. The Bellerive Oval will start off slow and flatten out as the game goes on. |
