2nd Keeper after all?

Well, it looks as if I was wrong after all. S Jasotharan, otherwise known as Dizzy #4 on the forums, told me over MSN his skills. They are: 'part keeper, no 5 batsman, med-fast bowling'. Now, he may turn out to be another allrounder, but there is also a case that he may have been listed as a 'keeper/bat' instead. So Burkey, it looks like you may have some competition after all!

I'd imagine players will be rotated for a while during the first few FC & OD matches of the season until a solid XI can be picked for each format of the game. From there on, players will be picked based on form and availability as well as the obvious horses-for-courses ordeal. I'll be providing full stats for every player on a regular basis. If anyone knows how in-depth I go when it comes to selections, just ask Andrew (age master). I think I sent he and a few other CW Green members lengthy emails for every single game, sometimes three of them. :p

Something for everyone to keep in mind is that the sims used for FC & OD matches are different from each other, so you can be in awesome form in one game and terrible form in the other - at CW Green, we even had keepers as OD / FC specialists for large parts of the season. This is good as it will help your chances of all making the team in one form of the game if not the other.

I'm sure Wright will lay down some laws on how we're going to go about the selection process etc. For the pre-season warmup games, I'd imagine he'd be doing the most of it? Dunno. *waits for Kyle* :)

I'm liking this team more as it goes on - nice long posts analysing the team, joking around, etc... it's all good, no dramas! Loving it. Oh, and on that note, if anyone has any problems with other members at any point, feel free to take it up with Wright and myself. Same with having any problems with the CW Colts in any other way. If you have any problems with the entire Dev League in general, I'd suggest talking to Age Master as he's our Player's Rep. If you need any more info, just ask. :D

Great post Dan. Sounds like a good selection policy, hope Kyle takes it up ( I'm sure he will ).

Hmm im a keeper too, its a good old fashion three way battle for the keeping spot. Should be fun battling it out with Jasotharan and Burkley for the No 1 keeping spot. I also thought you couldn't sign up as a kepper who can bowl, that is what i got told when i signed up. Not a big deal but if you be a keeper who can also bowl when not keeping, then i would like to do that, cus that is what i do in real life.

Looking forward to being parts of the Colts. For those that don't know me my name is David.

Goals for this season are to contribute to the team by whatever needs to be done ie runs/wickets, although just to be in the team would be encouraging.

Also my email which is also my msn is david_comley_rulz @ msn.com for those interested. Glad to be on board.

Yeah mate, a greentop would be nice, then you could probably play Wright as the sole paceman, maybe all of the spinners and just an extra seam bowler and Nayak.
Nice to see im included in the plans for the new season:P

What are we setting as our team goals?

Will our relative inexperience count against us in our first year (or so), to add a touch of realism, or will we be made to be as competitive as the other sides?

I will be creating a selection team, atm I see it only being 3 people; myself, BoB and Jack. All players will be noted of selection policies and I want this team to have an open policy and respect each other and the decisions of the selection team. Nothing will be hidden. I'm glad BoB's on board because he has been very successful in the past of communicating with the players. I will also not intervene with selections, etc when I'm away on international duty unless I feel that something has to be done. I have full faith in BoB and the rest of the boys to do the job while I'm away.

I'll have more info in the next couple of days as things get sorted out.
